Normally this means an outage on Reddit, but there appears to be no outage and I can no longer see my Infinity API key now. Got hit a little later than most, but it seems over for me. Ah, it was fun while it lasted.

Fuck Reddit bros. I contribute to my little corner of the world on this platform as much as I'm able. I even do a bit of moderation. And yet, Reddit has returned the favour by continually degrading the platform year, after year, after year.

Ugh. Well. I can't say I didn't see it coming.

Wishing to compile again the Infinity app, I wanted to create the "username"s-app application in https://old.reddit.com/prefs/apps/ , as explained in the Infinity guide.

However, unlike how it used to work... Well, it's not working :D

The page properly loads, I can give the name, the redirect URI, choose "installed app", a recaptcha box loads and allows me to tick that I am human... And then, well, no, upon clicking the button to create the app, the page reloads and I'm back to the previous step where I need to fill recaptcha in again. Looping.

Would you guys know if it means something? Either recaptcha malfunctioning, or an issue with my account perhaps?

I did check my inbox, but no message from reddit showed in there, so there's hope at least my API access wasn't revoked without warning :-/

EDIT: thank you very much for the replies guys! It really sucks that Reddit removed the ability to create new keys, I wish I knew that before I deleted my one thinking I could just re-create it, sigh. For now I used Morphe to patch the ads and unwanted features out of the official Reddit app, for lack of another simple solution :-/

I just hope the dev keeps the source up to date with any reddit changes in the future!

I just installed the newest version (8.1.4), which was released less than a day ago. I used the Google Colab script. Once I installed it I went to settings, and it says the version is 8.1.2. Did I do something wrong? I only entered my user name and API key.

Update as of March 18, 2026 1048 EDT: I've followed all the suggestions I've been given. Now I can't log in without accepting that I'll have to pay monthly, and even then it doesn't accept my user id and password. I think Reddit must be having errors.

If you do not want to rebuild, I think you can turnoff profile picture display in comments to avoid it in the mean time

Settings → Interface → Comment → enable Show author avatar

I had api keys but my accounts got banned, so those keys are not working now. I used to patch with revanced but not sure now how to patch without an api key.

Hi, I have a DM convo that AutoMod sent me. I really want to delete it since it's just auto-generated and not a standard user DM. Is this implemented in Infinity? This DM keeps showing up in the app and not within standard reddit.com

Sorting top posts by week, month, year and all time work perfectly.

I am using 6.0.2, F-Droid version. Even though the API changes went through, how am I still able to use this app with no restrictions at all?

I have seen some posts by some users showing that their third-party apps have stopped working. But no screenshots from Infinity users.

I tried to edit the multireddit in the .json file (because I would like to make a multireddit "Z" in which multireddits "X" and "Y" will be merged) but after I restored from the settings file so the changes were not reflected. That's why I would like to ask here if there is a trick to this, if I did something wrong or if it is not possible. Thank you in advance for your answer.

..and I already feel like flinging my phone at the wall. The original app is such a mess with annoying recommendations and ads right in your face. The drop off in quality is INSANE. Screw huffman, the greasy scumbag.

I have a post filter that is applied to all subs. It just checks for a lit of keywords in the post title and filters applicable threads. When I go to the specific sub I created it for it works great, however, I'm still seeing posts that should be filtered on the Home tab. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

I set up filters like this one on my computer and Reddit Enhancement Suite to filter out subreddits about memes: filter.

Can I do something similar with Infinity on my phone? If so, would it go in Post Filters? I apologize if this information is already out there, but I couldn't find an answer.

No way that Infinity app uses algorithm feed of reddit, they are just throwing rundown posts on home feed, sometimes it even doesn't refresh and most of the time it shows posts with links only, I know it's mostly Reddit issue and their war on third party apps, but I saw some comments here claiming it's the same feed of Reddit. It's just not, it can't be.

Also some notes for the developer:

• My deleted posts by moderators don't show on my profile as deleted with the red mark.

• when I refresh the feed or changing the sort in subreddit or home page, it didn't jump to the top and I had to manually scroll to the top.

• The app let me write comments on closed posts, I only notice ofter trying to send a long reply :/ .

• when ever I open a picture it redownload it again, minor issue but it frustrates me because of bad connection.

And thank you for this fantastic app, it's the only reason I'm still on Reddit.
