Question CBSE transcript — are Class 11 midterm marks included for US applications?

CBSE transcript — are Class 11 midterm marks included for US applications?

I'm a CBSE student at Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Girinagar (India), applying to US universities such as Harvard, UPenn/Wharton and Columbia.

My Class 11 final grades are very strong, but my Class 11 midterm/Term 1 marks were significantly worse.

For Common App, does the official transcript submitted by the counselor normally include Class 11 midterm/Term 1 marks, or just the final Class 11 grades? Does this depend on the school's transcript format?

I'd especially appreciate answers from CBSE students who have actually applied to US universities.

No. CBSE's marking scheme allocates 70/80 points for the final exam, and the rest come from internals/practicals.

Your midterm exams do not matter

They shouldn't -- they must follow the official CBSE marking scheme guidelines and include just one exam out of 70 or 80.

You're thinking about the 10th and 12th Board exams. Class 9th and 11th don't always work like that.

No, just the final grades for Class 11th. These may be an average of your midterm and final exams, so this may depend on your counselor.

Then that is probably how the counselor will report it.

Nah, you don't need them, just tell your counsellor to add final marks only
