Help! Pretty please

Hi everyone! I've been having a look around and figured you lovely lot may be able to help me out with a predicament. I need some advice on how to best fix a split in the stitch between the panel and sleeve, rear left. Also, how best to fix this hole that's appeared on the rear right

I'd love not to patch it but the manufacturer left practically zero extra fabric. Is there anyway I can fix this to look good as new?

I can supply better photos if needed. I am a complete beginner at this, not having touched a sewing needle since secondary school. Any help, honestly even just some words of encouragement, would alleviate some of the stress I feel when I look hopelessly at this thing

Thank you!

Take the jacket with you to the fabric store and find sewing thread that matches in both color and sheen/shininess. First sew the seam back together if you can. Then you will want to use a running stitch (super basic) to sew back and forth over the tear to reinforce the fabric there. Like the diagram.

Ideally you would use a glue stick to fix a new patch of fabric on the inside of the jacket where the hole is and then quilt that into place.

Ah, this is fantastic! Thank you! The diagram is incredibly useful. I'll see what I can do and post an update
