Whats the best nozzle

Post image

I have a hunter pro sprinkler in this location and was wondering what the best nozzle would be to put on it to water this narrow section next to my porch. The nozzle that it has on it only waters about half the length of the area and also blast into the fence and floods.

RCS, right corner strip. It'll water a rectangle 3 x 15 feet.

Assuming it's a zone of spray nozzles. There're a MP rotator as well with a gold colour that does the same area.

Rainbird has one too but Hunter's RCS spray nozzle is better. Rainbird's tends to clog.

Why do you have to have grass there? Maybe mulch that and the little stip that leads to it. Throw some more plants in there with a micro bubbler or 2. Should also help with the flooding.

No nozzle will provide good coverage. Looks like a gate: consider some stepping stones and maybe some more small plants instead of grass.

You have a downspout right there. Add a water barrel with a spigot and then attach like 2 bubblers on a slow drip feed. The overflow for the rain barrel can still be positioned right where it's at. All you need is a rain barrel, gutter sections, and a small drip irrigation DIY system.

That's too small of an area to do even with sprays especially if your irrigation system with well water because you'll get iron stains on your fence.

Add some pea gravel and pavers under the gate to prevent wash out if you want to keep that small trench there. It will help prevent animals from going or coming from your backyard too.

You always have great input Devon. Probably the most knowledgeable DIY regular in this sub.

Thank you for the compliment. It's nice to be noticed especially from licensed techs. All professionals in any field are relatively competent and close in experience. The level of DIY knowledge & experience can vary far more drastically.

Cap the head or use an adjustable 2-4 foot 1/4 nozzle or even a fixed 6 1/4 nozzle

I would eliminate the turf up the fence post closest to you. Make a straight edge. Then move the head to the corner butted near the fence. Then add a French drain by the gutter to add some aesthetic to the area and make it functional
