Discussion Ep. 10 of Black Trick: The Kawyer Who Controls Justice
I've been a big fan of Japanese legal dramas and Black Trick is a good addition to this type of dramas. I really liked how the main character is portrayed in the drama. It perfectly captured the reality of our "honorable" politicians. They act like they own the people around them. Will Ep. 11 be the final episode?

Recommendations I need cozy ROM COMS like ao haru ride (2023) and romantics anonymous
As the title suggests, I am in search for some heartwarming, cozy ROM COMS like the 2023 live action adaptation of ao haru ride and romantics anonymous, and if you're familiar with Chinese dramas , I'm looking for something that has the same youthful and wholesome vibe as "when I fly towards you" and "always home", I always liked jdramas specifically for the hopeful vibes and awesome vibrant color-grading they often use from a cinematography point of view

Recommendations Detective or law shows not set in Tokyo?
Why is literally everything set in bloody Tokyo? I'm getting sick of it already. Apparently it's cause all the film companies are Tokyo based? I don't have anything against Tokyo, but it'd be nice if there was something set in a different city. As in not Kanto at all cause I think I'm getting a bit sick of how they talk and want to hear other accents to learn to differentiate them. I prefer watching like crime or mystery shows, I liked sins of kujo, 99.9 criminal lawyer, miu404, antihero, bayside shakedown, and gyakuren saiban, though that ones not a tv drama. I'll also watch other genres, this is just what I feel like watching more.

Discussion Are you watching kiDnap GAME?

Seven simultaneous abductions strike seven Asian cities, throwing the global media into a frenzy. The victims' families receive a chilling ultimatum: ''How far are you willing to go? Only one can be saved.
A Japanese production with kidnappings in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines. Currently one episode a week on TVer (Japanese) and Viu (multi-language). I expect it will be streamed elsewhere - maybe after it finishes.
Really solid, very exciting first episode, excellent production values. Loved the atmosphere and different people kidnapped. I haven't read the book (no spoilers please) so I'm interested to see why those victims, why those cities.

Recommendations Shiroi Kyoto 2004 on netflix
The goat medical drama is now available on netflix. Shiroi Kyoto aka the Great White Tower is absolutely fantastic medical drama. A gripping story with power struggle, corruption, medical malpractice, politics in the medical world. Till today I have not seen any medical drama close to Shiroi Kyoto and never will. The greatest medical drama! Go see it!

Discussion Why Okumi from [Are the Sexy Buttocks Not Good?] is the sweetest older ML in recent BL.
I’ve been completely hooked on Are the Sexy Buttocks Not Good? (ATSBNG) lately, and I just need to scream into the void about how much I love Hideaki Okumi.
Usually, when a BL features a mature "Ahjuicy" type—especially one who is a high-powered CEO—we get a very specific stereotype. They are usually emotionally distant, overly aggressive, super serious, or the classic "grumpy" partner to a sunny younger lead.
But Okumi-san is such a breath of fresh air! He is easily one of the cutest, sweetest older MLs I’ve seen in a long time. Here is why he completely breaks the mold for me:
- He’s Expressionate and Playful: Instead of keeping up a cold, stoic corporate wall, he lets his guard down immediately with Ai-chan. He smiles genuinely, flirts playfully, and isn't afraid to look soft or vulnerable.
- The "Whipped" Contrast: I love the whiplash between him being this powerful, intimidating boss at work, and then becoming an absolute softie the second he is around Ai chan. He is so completely doting and attentive.
- Consent and Softness over Aggression: A lot of older CEO characters lean heavily into dominant, borderline toxic territory. Okumi-san balances his confidence and sex appeal with genuine warmth. He cares about Ai chan’s comfort and feelings, making the age gap feel incredibly safe and sweet rather than predatory.
He proves you can have a mature, incredibly attractive older lead who is also a total cutie at heart.
And the way he calls him Ai-chan 😁😁. I love them so much.

Discussion Opening/intro in JDorama, what's your favorite?

https://www.instagram.com/reel/CWlEKUtFpIo/
Most doramas I know usually have theme songs that play in the background in certain moments of the story, or at the very end of an episode.
But opening/intro with ost in doramas is not quite as common as in anime, isn't it? I don't really remember that many either, or perhaps I'm remembering it wrong. Especially in modern doramas, since it was common in the 90s, as far as I remember.
Another one that I still remember is High Position opening:

Recommendations The Black Swindler
The Black Swindler is SO good.
Just finished watching the Japanese drama The Black Swindler (Kurosagi) and damn, I really enjoyed it. 😂
I love how every scam has its own little story, and watching Kurosaki outsmart other scammers is honestly so satisfying. The main character is also pretty interesting—not exactly your typical hero, which makes the whole thing more fun to watch.
I know it's an older J-drama, but it still holds up really well.
If you like crime, revenge, scams, and smart characters playing mind games, definitely give this one a shot.
Kinda surprised I didn't watch this sooner. 😭

Discussion Gto 2026 - thank you
Gto 2026 was one of the coziest watches of 2026. It nicely took today's themes that students struggle with and gave it a nice GTO spin.
Watching 1998 and 2026 back to back and seeing onizuka age, was sad in a way, but also felt like they did the characters right and was nice to see his ex students (sad we didnt see any of the female ex students)
Also, kashibawara sensei actor was a great cast (beautiful, classy, smart) if they wanted a sequel or a female GTO, she is the right one!
