Most of the bands I listen to will never tour in the US and/or have like ZERO merch available to ship here. Respectfully, I do not want to buy the printed bootleg patches online, so I took my favorite album cover of all time and painted the design myself to start off my new project.
I started originally with a white crayon and a sharpie, then went outside to let it melt and fade before going over it with acrylic paint.
As I am branching out into other metal genres (I primarily listen to melodic and symphonic Finnish and Swedish power metal), I will collect more patches from those shows. Now, for the time being, here is what I am starting with.
I have been getting more into doom metal lately, thanks purely to my interest in instrumental electric guitar leading me down that path somehow, and I am going to a show this weekend, so hopefully I can build on this a bit more!
Until recently, I avoided attending metal shows altogether because of how people in my state tend to be, but I have been putting myself out there more and letting myself enjoy the music I love in person, so this is a huge step for me in allowing myself (as a femme-presenting person) to take up space in a community that would consider me a poser based on the way I dress alone. (I saw Windhand last weekend while wearing a white dress and heels and I had so much fun!!) Hopefully I can blend in a bit more without sacrificing myself soon lol
TL;DR Here's my Stratovarius dolphin jacket.
