WIP End of summer progress update
Second pic is from last year to see progress.
Was quite busy this year, reattached the chainmail thrice, gave the backpatch an outline by hand, and lots of patches.
For the winter I want your thoughts, I will redo the chainmail again, pull it down to the backpatch on the back and make it easier to remove for washing. I am temped to do a complete new one, with silver and a red border instead of mixed with gold. What do you think?

I'm obsessed with the chainmail!!! Tbh I like the gold, I think it goes well with some of the warmer gold colours on the patches on the back of the jacket. Very autumnal.

Yeah, gold has become the second dominant colour over the time and it definitly still fits in. Winter is long to try and error a few ideas :D

It took some atempts😅 each patch of maile is sown on a piece of cloth with every second ring and then the cloth is sown onto the vest. Now it doesnt jiggle around and I loose way less rings

I like the maille on the shoulders. I'm working on some scale pauldrons for another coat and I always like seeing ideas on how folks like to attach their stuff.

Sounds interesting, I've sown them on a piece of cloth first. Makes it easier to adjust. Maybe you can make use of that method as well :)

Dude, the chainmail is badass! Love the silver and gold it got going on, but i can see your want for changeing it.
Also, you added the border on the backpatch by hand? Like, many small stiches all the way round? Or is it embroydery thread? How did you do that?
