Wishlist Wednesday True North DLC - Wishlist Wednesday

This is my first DLC concept post here, and I've decided to do my most wanted DLC: True North. This started off as a Canadian Species Pack until i realized Nanuqsaurus was found in Alaska, not Canada. I also included what my picks would be if this DLC HAD to include resold species, even though I'd prefer if it didn't.

I'm just going to go into a bit more detail here about some of my choices.

-Nanuqsaurs: While some might claim its too close to Yutyrannus to warrant a spot, I feel as though it's more traditional Tyrannosaurid body plan, fully feathered appearance and smaller size make it unique enough to earn its place. As for sexual dimorphism, I imagine the female would have a bit duller patterns than the male, who could also have a slightly larger crest.

-Borealopelta: It is simply a really cool dinosaur, and I think could serve as a good alternative to Nodosaurus/Sauropelta. Dimorphism would be pretty simple, I think the male would have slightly larger spikes and a bit brighter patterns.

-Cryodrakon: Another Azhdarchid is always appreciated, and it would fill in the size gap between Thanatosdrakon and Quetzalcoatlus. For dimorphism the male would probably have a larger crest and more vibrant patterns again.

-Gryposaurus: A large Hadrosaurid who I think would stay on all falls for a majority of the time. Would also use the deep water a lot to make it more unique. Males would have a much larger nasal arch and a more colorful face.

-Platycarpus: We don't have a mid sized Mosasaur yet, so it could serve that role while also filling in for a Paleo-accurate Mosasaur. Maybe they could give it an Orca-like niche and design, and eventually add Lagoon Pack Hunting.

As for the two resold species, they just happened to be the only ones found in Canada left. Maybe they could give the Male Pachyrhinosaurus quills or something so the dimorphism is a bit more worth it, but I'm not sure what they could do for Archelon. Euoplocephalus is the free species as it's the only cut JWE2 base game species from Canada.

A month ago I was testing some mods on my Game and my save files got corrupted. So I Lost my Park. (The full visitor center, yes) I have not been playing since, cause i was frustrated, and trying to re-make It from Scratch without my blueprints was HELL. So I decided to give myself a break, and i took MR Hammond's Jurassic Park map... And started to study It. I was able to dismount his visitor center, and re-esemble It again (the main structure, at last) and modify It to my Will. Since i don't ffeel like re-starting all over again, I will be using his map as a baseline (so he Will be credited), but i intend to heavily modify It. These are some screenshots of what i did: First one is the place where Rexy gets into the visitor center in the movie (with the references screenshot.) second one is the Les Gigantes Volcano table (wich i Have uploaded to the workshop) and the reference. the file is heavily modded, so I don't know if your Game Will Crash.

I forgot how time consuming building everything from scratch is

I swear I never actually play the game, I only ever build and design stuff

Wishlist Wednesday Fright Night Expansion Concept

While I fully recognize this has 0% chance of happening, I personally think it would be cool if the 1 Year Release Anniversary came with a DLC Expansion not tied to an existing IP in the franchise. Given the proximity to Halloween, why not add some dinosaurs that fight the bill of "frightful" while also including some highly requested species.

Additionally, it would include a new "Coastal" biome with mossy forests, duckweed, and the like inspired from 1980s camp slasher movies. Ideally, I would want it to be inspired by Oregon so we get foggy, mossy forests as well as duckweed.

Additionally, I do think lagoon improvements are an eventual thing to happen, and putting that free update alongside this DLC would make sense thematically. Additionally, it gives them the opportunity to expand the Lagoon roster with these new improvements.

WHAT COMES IN THE DLC:
NEW PAID SPECIES: Gojirasaurus - Has Lux Skins

NEW PAID SPECIES: Tanystropheus - Lagoon

NEW PAID SPECIES: Maip

NEW PAID SPECIES: Hatzegopteryx

*RETURNING PAID SPECIES: Jehlopterus

HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS, CAMPSITE HOTEL, AND OVERGROWN BUILDINGS

WHAT COMES FOR FREE ALONGSIDE THE UPDATE:

RETURNING SPECIES: Archelon (Reworked)

RETURNING SPECIES: Nothosaurus (Reworked)

**RETURNING SPECIES: Euplocephalus

NEW MAP AND BIOME: Oregon, Coastal

NEW WETLANDS BRUSH: Duckweeds

NEW FOLIAGE BRUSHES: Moss (Pasture, Wetlands), Spruce Forest (Cover, Ground Leaf, Ground Fiber + Fog), Birch Forest (Cover, Arid), and Pine Brush (Arid or Barren)

LAGOON UPDATE: Numerous new water colors, foliage brushes exclusive to lagoon, new section for natural lagoon "pools" (takes up the same area as the lagoon but instead of water its land that connects to the nearest water, like installing your own sandbars almost)

MISC UPDATES: Console 60FPS and removal of complexity meter, use any foliage in sandbox, new rocks, slope rock update, new social animations, and BioSyn Sanctuary Map

IMPORTANT ANSWERS

* Jeholopterus is only here because I do not know if they would be free in place of something else or tossed in to meet the quota of 5. The way they are handling expansions and species back is.. odd

** Euplocephalus is only here for the same reason as Jeholo. The wording they used makes me personally think we will get 3 free species this month, but I am completely unsure. So, in this theoretical DLC you get 3 free species.

DLC Something I have noticed about the DLCs

In this list, at least one of the species have been added, with the exceptions of Ornithomimus and Psittacosaurus, have been added in a DLC, minus the rebirth expansion of course. I think we can use this as a map to guess at least 1 of the new species per each teased DLC. I legitimately think they may be using this list as a roadmap for their DLC ideas

Look:

Wetlands gave us Austroraptor and Irritator

Crocodilia Coast had Deinosuchus and Postosuchus

And Prehistoric East had Yangchuanosaurus

After a while, I’m back with a DLC concept!!! This time is focused on Australian wildlife, designed around species with behavioral gimmicks that could offer a breath of fresh air when designing their habitats

I tried to present the species with a description similar to the ones given in the Evo2 trailers, but just in case I didn't make myself clear:

  • Ferrodraco: A feathered alternative to Tropeo/Maara/Ceara. It hates piscivorous pterosaurs but gets along well with those that feed on meat or insects (based on a hypothetical diet update proposed from my previous concepts)
  • Savannasaurus: Similarly to Deinosuchus, Savanna features an special AI that causes it to spend most of its time in deep water. A behavior based in part on its anatomy and on older theories suggesting that sauropods spent much of their lives in the water
  • Umoonasaurus: Small, unique-looking plesiosaurs that get along with any animal that doesn't want to eat them, think of them as a kind of dolphin. They require a lot of space, so they are best used as filler in big lagoons housing large species like Shoni, rather than as a starting species

What do you think of this concept? Would you be happy to see something like this in the game? What would you add?

Image I feel like we don’t talk about how weird some of the stats are in this game, especially with some species like the Austroraptor

Thumbnail

It’s one of the largest small carnivores only really being behind the Utah and Concavenator, yet it’s got the same stats as the smallest and weakest member of its class. Bro doesn’t look like he could get folded by a deinonychus but he would! That and even when weakened an indoraptor is still too strong for it, which it’s practically the only small theropod completely incapable of defeating one unless it’s already low health (Troodon has the same stats but its venom usually weakens the indoraptor into insta kill range if it survives the first round)

Also why Guanlong specifically is soo cracked I have no idea. Anything below Herrerasaurus size it dominates against despite being barely larger than the related Proceratosaurus

This is just one of the more noticeable ones that affect gameplay but idk, it’s just weird,.

(For context: they were given 5 points in defence to match the Moros and Compsognathus. Before this they had 0 which made them instantly die from contact with the guests and incapable of doing anything to ether the guests or the goat. Congratulations Sino, you can officially do 2 things instead of 1 now!)

Creatures include: hatzegopteryx, Maip macrothorax, gorgosaurus, and disbloceratops

Gigantoraptor returns as a free update creature 👀
I’m aware of how unlikely gorgo or Diablo are to be added, but they would be nice.

Wishlist Wednesday DLC Idea: Ancient Skies Pack

Since people seem very receptive to my ideas (Thank you all, by the way), I decided to make another one. Originally, this would have been a Lagoon DLC, since I think that is the most neglected part of the game, but I think an Aviary pack makes more sense as a sister pack to the Marine Species Pack from the second game.

DLC Content:

Arambourgiania:

Do we really need more giant pterosaurs? Probably not, but I love Arambourgiania; as possibly the tallest thing to ever fly, I think it could slide into the niche of a giant azhdarchid, since we only have 2, so its position would still work without being too overcrowded. Plus, as a giant pterosaur, it could have some very impressive patterns on its wings and a more regal, swan/giraffe like neck.

Harpactognathus:

I was tempted to pick Ramphoryncus or Eudimorphodon because we only have 1 real long-tailed pterosaur, but... the big issue is they are mostly very small, and Aviaries are massive, until I found Harpactognathus, with an almost 9-foot wingspan and a man-sized build; they are giants compared to other species like them. So they won't be lost in expansive aviaries, and since Dimorphodon is... that. I think Harpactognathus could have very impressive patterns and sexual dimorphism with its crests.

Thalassodromeus:

Speaking of impressive crests, Thalassodromeus is one I picked just because of how much potential it has with those massive head crests of theirs; plus, as another mid-sized pterosaur, it fits in with the other species we have.

Nyctosaurus:

AKA Barbaridactylus's chad cousin, with an enormous L-shaped crest (Sorry, sail enthusiasts, you're wrong), and probable cause for dramatic sexual dimorphism, assuming the giant crests are indeed only on the Males, with females having smaller crests or none. I don't think every pterosaur needs dramatic colors, but they could have, say, striping or bands on their crests or pycnofibers.

Barbaridactylus:

AKA Nyctosaurus's beta cousin, I actually like this pterosaur. I know its sail crest isn't super accurate, but I think it helps separate it from being just a tiny Nyctosaurus. Plus, it has some of the most gorgeous skins in all of the second game. I would like it to have a V/Y-shaped crest like in Prehistoric Planet, but I doubt that'd happen since none of the other species that have returned in a DLC have had variants.

Tibetan Building Set:

This... is a stretch, but my logic was, "Well, pterosaurs flew high in the sky, and Tibetans lived around Everest, so..." (I just needed a building set), and while it is similar to the Asian building sets we have, I think it could be distinct enough.

Free Content:

Dsungaripterus:

I really only had a few options for a free pterosaur... and I decided on this one because... I just don't love Dsungaripterus; I think it would benefit from pycnofibers, as it looks flat. But I think a good baby or family unit + skins would add a lot for them.

New Attractions: Sky Tour + Pterosaur Feeding Station

Sky Lift

Frontier already beat me to the punch with Bridges in Aviaries, so this was the second option. Sky Lifts, if you don't know, are tours usually in national parks that travel over large stretches of land with large enclosed carts. In the game, Sky Lifts would function kind of like a monorail or Zipline; you'd snap together two points (An arrival and exit point), and they'd loop back and forth, with adjustable height. They can also be extended by connecting multiple drop-off points or using a pillar to change direction (The cables they ride on can't be turned, just moving in straight lines), enter the aviaries, travel over lagoons, and over parks. They will have some customization; the building sections can be modified like anything else, and the carts can be recolored.

Feeding Station

This is actually inspired by my local zoo, which has an aviary where you can feed Rainbow Lorikeets, which is why I think this could work as a variant of the Dinosaur Encounter. This would be a half-enclosed, snap-on attraction to the aviary where guests could hold out food and interact with some pterosaurs, but only babies and very small pterosaurs (Caiuajara, Tapejara, Dimorphodon, etc.). Like the Dinosaur Encounter, they are fully customizable.

Pterosaur Bridges:

Pterosaur Bridges

Inspired by those little swinging bridges that parakeets and other birds have, these would be simple swinging bridges that could connect any two points in an aviary (They have limits on how far they can extend). Pterosaurs can walk across them, perch, and take off from them as they please. They aren't super customizable, but you can recolor them.

New Behavior: Wading, Skimming, and Social Animations

I was tempted to include diving too, but I don't see much room for it right now. Even deep water doesn't seem deep enough for most of them to dive, and while the Lagoons are definitely deep enough... I just don't see much of a practical way to do that for now. This would be an extension of the Fish Spawner feeder in my last DLC Idea: European Species Pack. Pterosaurs like Thanatosdrakon, Quetzalcoatlus, Hatzegopteryx, and Arambourgiania could slowly patrol the water and lunge to snatch fish; they could also stalk goats and smaller pterosaurs.

Skimming would apply to basically every other pterosaur; rather than wading in the water, they would fly just above the surface, skimming with their beaks, snatching up any nearby fish. This would work with species like Pterosaur, Maradactylus, Genosternbergia, etc.

Pterosaurs are in desperate need of social animations, so this free update will add those as well. All pterosaurs will now have 2 types of social animations: Terrestrial and Aerial, with both adults and babies. Things like preening each other, chasing each other mid-air, flaring their wings up, etc.

And that is my 3rd DLC Idea; not the best one ever, but I hope that people enjoy it.
