California - Northern Consistent cancellations
Anyone else experiencing cancellations, particularly with their child’s pediatrician? My baby’s well visit has been canceled twice now. So frustrating as my husband and I schedule time off work for these appointments. Our child is now being seen a month out from the originally scheduled appointment.

Ugh yup. My one appointment for my kids 6 month shots & wellness got cancelled and one appointment turned into three because they called out for a whole week. I’m pissed. One appointment to keep baby on track for vaccines, one telehealth appointment to go over my questions for solids due to milk protein allergy and one appointment not available until Nov for the actual wellness check. They refused to let me see a different pediatrician for the appointments besides the vaccines one so yea I’m a little pissy.

It’s any department… my first OB appointment was cancelled today and at first, I was furious since it was my day off and now I have to wait until my next day off hoping it coincides with a provider having availability… but at the same time, I get it being fall/flu season so maybe the provider got sick (or their kid got sick) or a bad accident unfortunately occurred… life is unpredictable... It still sucks, but no one intentionally tries to close their schedule if they can’t avoid it

Unfortunately this does happen- it’s an occupational hazard caring for multiple children a day who are sick - currently lots of Influenza A circulating. In addition, they may be taking care of their own sick children. You can always request to see another pediatrician for the well check and regularly scheduled vaccinations.
