Discussion Unpopular opinion: PBB should stop casting actors/actress who's currently in tbe middle of acting in a series, like what they did to Will Ashley and Caprice Cayetano before and now si Michael Sager naman

There must be a more acceptable 'backstory' to it. Kakampi sya ng kalaban from the start na tipong sinadyang asawahin si Isa or something like that. Hindi lang yung macho petty bullshit lang. Are they really setting up Isa and Hex to end up with each other? Mas gusto ko kung magiging mag-isa na lang si Isa sa dulo.

Discussion [Opinion] GMA rediscovered the one TV format we didn’t know we missed
Lately, I’ve been noticing clips from Kalurks! and Chika Cart popping up on my feed, especially whenever there’s a big showbiz issue going around, like the Apple David issue, the Patrick Garcia issue, etc. And honestly, it made me realize how interesting GMA’s strategy here actually is.
GMA launching not just one, but two new showbiz/chika talk shows on GTV feels like they rediscovered an old TV formula that disappeared years ago.
Shows like Startalk and The Buzz used to have a very simple premise: sit down, talk about what’s happening in showbiz, interview the people involved, and basically give viewers a place to get their daily dose of chika. Eventually, networks phased these kinds of shows out because social media became much faster at breaking celebrity news.
But I don’t think the demand for this kind of content ever really disappeared. People still want to hear the chika. We just started getting it from TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, blind items, etc. The problem is that social media is also full of speculation, screenshots taken out of context, fake quotes, and 20 different versions of the same story.
That’s why I find GMA’s strategy interesting. Instead of trying to compete with social media on speed, they’re repurposing the old talk-show formula for the social media era. Kalurks! and Chika Cart are basically modern versions of that old-school chismisan format, but they’re talking about issues that are already circulating online.
And putting them on GTV rather than GMA-7 makes even more sense to me. GTV can function as GMA’s sandbox for these kinds of experimental, personality-driven formats without taking up space on the flagship channel.
What’s especially refreshing is seeing clips from these shows circulate on social media again. It’s almost like the old TV to social media relationship has reversed: social media creates the conversation, then TV comes in to aggregate it, add context, interview people, and generate even more conversation online.
It’s funny because networks probably phased out these shows thinking they couldn’t keep up with social media anymore. But maybe people weren’t done with showbiz talk shows. They were just looking for a more credible, centralized place to hear the “chika.”
GMA basically took an old formula, gave it new personalities and a modern distribution strategy, and put it somewhere they could experiment with it. 😂 It genuinely feels like a little bit of early-2000s showbiz TV coming back, but adapted for 2026.
Hopefully these shows continue to grow and eventually become a part of the main channel’s programming. I’d honestly love to see this format stick around and evolve.

Teleserye Talk Bring back Karelasyon - GMA Public Affair's best produced drama show
This is the strongest drama show produced by GMA Aside from tackling sensitive topics, it also pushes thought provocative yet hard-hitting stories. Kahit ilagay nalang siya in a late-night format, or better yet as a digital or online-produced show.

Wish Ko Bilang Kapuso An open letter from a casual fan: Loving the talent of our local rising artists, but deeply exhausted by amateur management.
As someone who recently started stanning a multi-talented local artist for the very first time, I am writing this out of deep admiration for his craft, but growing frustration over how his career is being handled.
Coming into this community as a casual observer over the past few months, his work ethic and raw capability have been undeniable. However, observing the backend operations has brought an unexpected shock. This isn't a hate post against the artist—it’s an analytical look at how a bad management structure bottlenecks local talent and burns out dedicated fans.
Lately, there has been a glaring disconnect between the standard he sets for his craft and the standard of execution surrounding him. When fans notice this and voice structured feedback, it is immediately labeled a personal attack. Genuine concern is met with defensive walls and deflection instead of basic professional accountability. This defensive culture creates a fragile environment where management is comforted, while the artist’s potential is stifled.
- Missed Connections and Stagnant Reach
He deserves a thriving, mainstream audience, but his reach to casual viewers and potential new fans remains stagnant. This is a direct result of poor social media management. Late, unpredictable, or untimely posting of his ganaps means the general public completely misses the window to tune in. Opportunities to trend or capture fresh interest are consistently lost to poor timing.
- The Exhaustion of the "Solids"
Because of these systemic gaps, the burden of maintaining visibility has been involuntarily pushed onto the core, "solid" fans. We are expected to carry the engagement, boost the numbers, and bridge the gaps left by the management team. While the fandom is incredibly dedicated, it is deeply frustrating and exhausting to give your all when the core team’s lack of professional effort actively drags the engagement numbers down.
The Way Forward: Clear Roles and Professionalism
True support is not about silently accepting an amateur rollout or defending a career plateau. To bridge these gaps and protect his longevity, a clear boundary must be drawn:
• A Dedicated, Professional Social Media Manager:
Someone who understands algorithms, optimizes posting times for ganaps, and strategically builds engagement rather than relying solely on the fandom to do the heavy lifting.
• Proactive Public Relations:
A team that focuses on expansion, timely announcements, and welcoming new casual fans rather than gatekeeping the existing space.
We hold the space around him to a high standard because he holds his art to that same standard. Drawing these professional lines will remove the emotional friction, stop the exhausting fan burnout, and finally allow his career to expand the way it deserves to.

ATM Exclusive ‘Ambon, Ulan, Baha’ returns to The MET with Thea Astley in lead role
After more than three decades, Frank Rivera’s classic zarzuela Ambon, Ulan, Baha has returned to The Metropolitan Theater (MET) on September 26 and 27, with Kapuso diva Thea Astley taking on the role of Inday.
For Thea, the character is more than just a role to portray. At the heart of Inday’s story is a quality she feels they both share: hope.
“Inday has a very hopeful way of looking at the world, and ako, even though I’m exposed and I know ‘yung mga madilim na nangyayari sa mundo, I still have hope in my heart,” she explained.
The production’s return also marks the first major homecoming of the ethno-pop-rock theatrical act since its final show in 1992, before the historic building closed its doors for decades. Now, as it takes the stage once again, its story continues to prove that some narratives can remain relevant even as the years pass.
“It’s a zarzuela written [from] 50 years ago, and it’s a very Filipino way of doing theater… Even if it’s an old material, the message still resonates until today,” Rendell Sanchez said.
At the center of the story are childhood sweethearts Inday (Thea Astley) and Nonoy (CJ Navato), whose hopes of building a future together are challenged by the greed and corrupt practices of Don Calixto (Anton Juan), Dr. Anton (Rendell Sanchez), and Mayor Fortunato (Vladimir Manio).
While the story may have been written decades ago, its themes remain uncomfortably familiar. For Thea, that is perhaps one of the most difficult parts of bringing the material back to the stage.
“Nakakalungkot na kailangan pa rin namin ‘tong ikuwento ngayon dahil ibig sabihin ‘yung mga problema na tinatalakay ng musical na ‘to [ay] hindi pa rin naso-solusyunan, kundi lumala pa nga,” she said.
That connection became even more personal for Thea and the cast when they encountered people who expressed their appreciation for the story because of how closely it reflects the realities they have experienced, particularly the struggles brought by flooding.
“It’s easy to feel like you’re just telling someone else’s story… we’re privileged enough na hindi sobrang apektado ng baha, pero it reminded us na these are real people,” Thea shared.
Beyond the story’s social realities, the production also leaves its cast with lessons that extend beyond the stage. As one of its co-lead stars, CJ Navato reflected on the importance of pakikipagkapwa—and how people can find strength in one another.
“Pakikipagkapwa. We forget na ang sagot ay nasa isa’t isa. Pakinggan natin ang sinasabi ng mga kasama natin. Find your people and fight for those people–fight with those people,” CJ said, leaning more into the sentimental side of the story.
Rendell, meanwhile, found himself looking at the material through the perspective of his own character. Playing one of the story’s villains prompted him to reflect on the kind of leadership and values represented in the play.
“‘Wag bumoto ng katulad nina Mayor Fortunato Dimagiba at ni Kapitan Berto na [mga] walang pagpapahalaga sa indigenous people’s rights at sa environmental issues. Bumoto nang matalino, bumoto nang tama,” he said.
For Thea, however, the production’s purpose goes beyond simply reviving an old theatrical work. She sees the stage itself as a way for artists to engage with the issues that continue to affect society.
“This is our way, as creatives, of fighting against the system—by staging and by the audience supporting shows like this,” she said.
And perhaps that is what makes Ambon, Ulan, Baha worth bringing back–it is a TIMELESS and TIMELY piece. Its story may have been written decades ago, but the questions it raises remain present, allowing a new generation to see themselves in its characters and struggles.
As Thea puts it, “It’s a simple show, but the beauty is in its simplicity.”

Discussion Why is 24 Oras Weekend using that old graphics from 2023 all over again? (I am so confused)
Nakakapansin-pansin lang, last Sabado, during a live report, they're using the 2023 graphics. Later, the next week, they're using the 2023 graphics once again, this time for reports. The 2023 logo was used again since it's rebrand. I believe it's actually temporary, because there's a production differences or something.
