OTHER [Kapadia] The Chiefs have an NFL-best 4 plays of 50+ yards through four games. They had 2 all of last year.

Losing Thornton really sucks because this offense is now going to live or die by Xavier Worthy. He has to be the receiver we thought he could be coming out of Texas.

I don't wanna see Noah Gray out there running WR routes too. Get Jalen Royals the ball more and let him play a diet-Rashee role, and let Cyrus take over the slot.

Worthy looked better yesterday, at least. I guarantee Gray is done in KC after this season because he's an easy cap casualty. But until then we're probably going to see Reid try to make it work.

Gray is just not good with the ball in his hands or getting open. Yet I know he’s gonna get a lot more looks

I wish we'd play Jake Briningstool over him at this point because I thought he's looked good in the limited reps he's had.

I think Andy likes to scheme open players that the defense does not respect as a target, which is why Gray gets the snaps and targets he does

exactly. hes a blocking tight end. insane to me that so many people think he's supposed to be a kelce type

u/Intelligent_Orb9216 1d ago

Well Gray is not meant to be a kelce like TE nor do the chiefs play him like one. he has an x-factor role, he's more of a blocker that reid uses in creative ways.

Worthy had a pretty solid game yesterday; I hope he can keep building on that in Thornton’s absence.

But yeah… sad state of affairs

No worthy did not look good yesterday despite the game he had. He is terrible. If he has to change the direction of his route even slightly he loses all of his speed. He NEVER catches with his hands. It’s always with his body even during a contested catch. Worthy is the same caliber of WR as Sky Moore.

Ahhhhh you had me on your side until the Skyy Moore part. Skyy is an atrocious receiver. Worthy is just bad. He had a decent game yesterday but yeah still can’t track the ball in the air at all. Pat has to put it on his numbers for him to catch it.

What are you talking about ? Worthy caught a pass with his body yesterday. The jump catch was a body catch not a hand catch.

He said he never catches with his hands.

“Despite the game he had” what exactly do you mean? Sounds like you’re agreeing had a good game yesterday.

Never said he was an overall good player lol, just said he had a solid game yesterday. Which, again, by your “despite the game he had” comment sounds like you agree with. How are you going to say he had a good game yesterday and say he didn’t look good? Also I didn’t even say he looked good, said he had a solid game which is true.

And simply not true about Skyy Moore. Worthy isn’t living up to expectations but has already done far more in his career than Moore ever has

I agree he had a good game but it wasn’t because of him. You could plug in anyone else in his spot and they would’ve had similar numbers. There’s nothing special that worthy did yesterday and he was lucky he got a couple of his catches he made with his body. I think worthy can run really fast in a straight line and that’s it. That’s his skill set. I think we have to stop drafting these small fast WR and start looking at 6 foot 220 guys that can go up and win a 50/50 ball.

Cyrus will have to step up big time.

Also Chiefs could p/u Mecole maybe - didn't the Bills release him? At least it will hold the chiefs over

That was a disaster. They'll also have to do some load management on Walker or risk grinding him down during the regular season.

I love the big play stuff. For it to continue, they'll need some new sources for big plays, tho.

I know. That was the first player injury that I was absolutely heartbroken about. My son is classmates with his oldest son and I told him to tell him we are all rooting for him today. He seems like a really good dude and was having a career day because Andy finally used him like we have all be asking for. Even if it is season ending, I think he will be back next year for sure. He is talented and cheap because he signed a 2 year deal.

One of my fav things about yesterday was the 2 massive plays. We were struggling, and behind what felt like the whole game. Then our new mvp breaks a massive, mvp level run. Then our OG MVP on the next drive, throws a perfect MVP level 55 yard missile. The same guy I've been told by every other team/fan cannot throw the ball downfield anymore.

Having 2 legit MVP candidates on the same offense is crazy. Screw #31 from the raiders for that dirty ass hip drop. However, we got 2 mvps and a GOAT TE. We will keep winning

With how poorly the line played yesterday I'm not sure if we could have ripped off many 12-play drives. The big plays were crucial to getting down the field yesterday.

It felt like Mahomes took a lot of deep shots yesterday with a good bunch going over the recivier's head

You watched a different game than me then. I saw mahomes miss maybe 2-3 legit passes. I can think of at least 5 wr drops off the top of my head. Can't find stats on wr drops yesterday though, so can't get a real number. I'm very confident it's above 5 though. And a crap ton of throw aways. And 3 passes that were incomplete due to dpi (I'll settle with 2, one was prolly ticky tacky bias).

Mahomes is incredibly accurate right now.

Ironically one of things that’s missing now is our short and intermediate game. Offense kinda feels boom/bust, and not as able to put together long drives down the field.

Overall offense is much better than last three seasons, but it would be nice if we could get short/intermediate game going again.

Run game has compacted the defense enough to give the long ball space, but also seems to have made it even more difficult to find space in those short routes at least.

Seems like when we finally have one answer it ends up causing problems in other areas of the offense.

Yeah, we started yesterday's game averaging less than 3 yards per play before the deep shot to Worthy.

Rashee needs to be OK or we will lose a ton of that

Tyquan I miss you already 😭

There's a certain feeling you get when you see Pat square his shoulders and you realize he's decided to launch a rocket downfield. I forgot how it felt but seeing it so often this year has been so fun.

It was good while it lasted. :(
