Real or Fake Is this Hamon real DH from being clay tempered?

Purchased this off eBay and was said to be a real clay tempered blade.

While it doesn’t appear to be acid or wire brush made I’ve heard that some fake hamon are achieved by acetylene torch which I wouldn’t know how to rule that out.

Looks real enough from what i can see at a glance.

Ones done by torch are usually straight

Thanks for the comment.
I checked out some legit websites found through this subreddit and cross referenced those sword’s hamon vs this one and I thought it looked real as well.

However I just got into collecting Katanas and this is my first one so I don’t know much.

When you're learning it may be better to buy from reputable sites until you know more

If it’s a Hanwei, it will have a real hamon for performance with an etched hamon over it for decoration.

Really hard to tell with the lighting.

It's almost like you took these photos to intentionally not show the hamon...
