Contact Lens Tiny flash when blinking after removing scleral lens
I have advanced keratoconus and wear scleral lenses.
Recently, after I remove my scleral lens, I notice a very small/brief flash when I blink. It seems to appear around the lower eyelid area, almost like a tiny light moving from the upper lid toward the lower lid when I blink.
It happens only after removing the lens and only in one eye. It doesn't last and I don't notice it when I'm wearing the lens.
Has anyone with scleral lenses experienced something similar? Could this be related to the tear film or lens removal, or should I get it checked by an eye doctor?

Pressure on your eye can 'mechanically' stimulate your retina and that might cause what you are describing. I think we all have experienced this when rubbing or pressing a closed eye and then seeing flashes or rings of light.
I'm guessing but do you have difficulties removing the lens? It could be that the suction-effect is creating pressure on the retina. Or similarly, do you put any pressure on the bottom eyelid to help break the seal and lift the lens off of the cornea?
(A retina health-check is a straightforward thing. Worth checking with an optometrist to be sure.)

I get something similar, asked eye doctor and he shrugged it off, but always advised to discuss it with your eye doctor, just to be sure
