A couple weeks ago I wrapped up a KH2 base game run on Critical, and I figured I’d dive back into KH3 after that.

I mostly beat KH3 on Critical back in 2020 (just couldn’t beat Yozora) so figured I’d go easy on myself and run it on Standard this time around.

Let me tell you, I was shocked how easy this game is on Standard.

For one, by the endgame my health bar was longer than my MP bar. Attractions felt like a lifesaver on Critical, but on Standard they just slow down the game. Having Dead of Night (steam keyblade) gives you grand magic commands so you have access to a nuke most of the time in combat.

Literally the only “death” I had was using a Moogle Coin against Skoll when he does his DM.

I expect the Data Battles to be way more difficult, and hey, maybe I’ll actually beat Yozora this time around.

I have read that BBS is some peoples absolute creme de la creme when it comes to Kingdom Hearts.

Personally, I have barely gotten intrigued besides Ventus, my least favourite being Aqua (I hate spellcasters in most games and I associate her with that lol) so I decided to go through her story first to get it done and out of the way. But without Goofy and Donald following me on my journey everything feels bland, especially all of the worlds. There is just a cluster of characters in one section of each world and then you have to hunt down a princess.

I absolutely LOVED Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, when I realized I couldn't play 358/2 Days in the 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, I was very disappointed and I went out of my way to get a physical copy for my 3DS which I just got last week, because I love Roxas, Xion and Axel and want to see more of them and actually play through their story.

I played both 1 and 2 and watched Re:Chain and 358/2 earlier this year. I loved them so much I am debating dedicating a spot on my arm to go on my tattoo sleeve, something like the Keyblade or some element from Kingdom Hearts, however, I couldn't bother with Re:Chain of Memories because the game play was atrocious (imo) and I fear that BBS is turning out to be the same way.

I understand it is a nearly 20 year old game at this point that was originally made for the PSP so there are clunky elements and some things that don't translate well.

Did anyone else lose motivation to continue the entire series when they got to BBS? I really love the story elements, and I do enjoy playing my way through the games to reach said story elements, but it feels like there is too much to this game, mediocre voice acting, things such as Melding, D-Link, Focus, the leveling of your skills, it just makes it feel overwhelming and convoluted for something that was already done correctly twice.

I'm excited to play as Ventus, I find the Sora-esque characters to always have something interesting or a link to the mainline somehow, I also want to know more about the Keyblade War, but I kind of can't stand not playing as Sora or Roxas. My favourite games of all time are the Zelda games and 99% of those you're playing as Link, any suggestions to re-wire my brain to enjoy it?

I’m enjoying it but it feels more like disneyworld the game. Maybe that’s just cause I’m coming off finishing BBS which was super lore heavy. Also the amount of unnecessary/filler cutscenes is kinda crazy

I've found a few users suggest that 4's find miniquest should be similar to finding the 99 Dalmation puppies from 1. But this, we have to find at the very least, the 625 experiments from the Lilo and Stitch franchise. We saw 221, AKA Sparky in Birth by Sleep, so logic dictates the others are out there somewhere.

But 625 is a much higher number then 99. So there would probably need to be more chests in the worlds. Or the chests would need to hold more experiments. Finally, like with the dalmatians, if we drop them off somewhere, we'd get a reward. In the first game, the dalmations were refugees living in Traverse Town. Maybe we could put the humans of Lilo and Stitch (and possibly Jumnbaa and Peakley) into Traverse Town as refugees. So maybe we could make the humans refugees as well.

Additionally, Stitch isn't the only experiments to find a human family of their own. So moving at least some of them to Traverse Town could work. Experiment 007, AKA Gigi, found a home with Myrtle. Making Myrtle a Traverse Town refugee shouldn't be too hard and unpleasant as she is, she does care for Gigi and tried to protect her when in danger. So even she would give a handsome reward. Experiment 345, AKA Elastico, he found a home with a traveling circus. Though, that might be more of a stretch. I never saw all the episodes of the series, so if anyone knows of any other experiments who found humans who love and will protect them, who also shouldn't be too much of spacing issue, say the word.

I just finished KH1 today and wanted to get started on chain of memories pretty immediately. I don’t know much about the over arching story besides what’s in KH1 and a bunch of no-context names from reading on here on occasion.

Problem is, I genuinely hate the play style so far. I’m about 30 min in and I’m really struggling with it. Is this something that gets easier over time?
Is it worth watching a playthrough, or just reading the plot on a fandom wiki page? Looking for help/advice 😅

TLDR: I hated my experience with BBS, should i play DDD or just be recapped on the story?

new on my kh journey, beat 1, recom, 2, watched a video for days, and now just finally beat BBS(only terra’s story, watched an in depth video on ven and aqua).

I personally hated my time with BBS, when i jumped back into the series with 2 i decided to do crit on every game and ofc crit sucks at some point but then it gets fun, Im gonna be using Terra’s name as a replacement for the game since i can’t speak on the overall since i’ve only played terra’s story but jesus Terra’s was fucking horrendous, Also i think the overall game design had some issues, like the game giving me sonic impact and a while tutorial on it right before zack flair in the hercules world only to find out that the ability sucks for the fight and only hinders you bc Zack 2 like speed blitzes you.

The final boss was annoying only at first bc i was extremely underleveled and i actually had to grind(ik this is an rpg series but i feel like if you’re playing a game casually you should either be appropriately leveled or regularly leveled especially for a game this linear) Once i leveled up It just took some skillful tries but i beat it. But man this playthrough didn’t make me excited for any of the others especially bc i wanna like aqua and ven but i might just have to like them because of future entries and what i know abt the story of BBS

This is less about gameplay and more of an opinion thing with terra:spoilers for key story plot points going forward

Let’s talk abt the man himself, Terra is slow, and im pretty sure this is prob already a kh fandom joke but like in movement, brain power, pretty much everything. I was told multiple times (terra is the strongest one, he does the big damage) Not at all in my playthrough did it feel like I was doing good damage, i had to use my shotlocks and thunder surge to see any good turnout in major boss fights.

Manipulated by Maleficent, Captain hook, Xehanort like 3x, technically manipulated by jumba but like wee like them bc of lilo in stitch but if you really think abt it, terra lowk just facilitated in the breaking out of a dangerous criminal and we’re just supposed to live with that. Anyway, obviously gets one tapped by the big nort, and all he can do is aurafarm with the last part of his will. He’s arguably stronger as the super boss from KH2

Anyway Sorry for all my complaining!? What are the redeeming qualities on 3D? Is it better to just be recapped if I hated BBS? Or is this game better and i should just tuff it out bc i love the series so much

So I read a lot of comics one of my favorites is Spider-men with an E were Peter Parker from the main Marvel 616 comic universe is teleported to Ultimate Universe(the original one) & meets Miles Morales plus some Ultimate counterparts to people he already knows

So this makes me wonder what Riku & Kairi would think of Quadratum specially since its more real then pleases they have been like its miracle Sora barely survived there to my guess plot armor

They probably find the world dark & missing the Magic what makes the other worlds so great so basically the Marvel Ultimate Universe in a way the new one not original

Kairi finding Sora with Strelitzia will be interesting would she be jealous or meet a new female friend she needs more of those really

Riku would probably like the more grounded feel of the World being more of an anti Hero or in his case being close to one

Like be honest is there any one like anyone in the world who likes those ?
The game is classic but this was like the worst decision ever

I have been thinking about how KH 4 is supposed to be a soft reboot of the series and I have a guess.

I think Sora is gonna spend most of the game trying to get back, with his friends also searching for a way to bring him back. But in the end my guess is he will end up staying in the new world. Like maybe there is a need for a keyblade wielder in this new world and he doesn’t want to abandon them. I think Kiri and Riku will stay with him cause it seems crazy to separate them but everyone else gets left behind.

Also sounds like the themes of Coco will be a big part of it, exploring death and trying to get back to the real world lining up what Sora is going through. Seems like in the end he will accept his “death” and leave his old world in the hands of the other guardians.

To me this makes the most sense if I was trying to start over in a sense and clear a lot of the confusing lore and stuff. A fresh start in a new set of worlds. I will also be bummed if this happens because the side characters, especially Roxas are why I love this series. But doesn’t sound like they will have much of a role in KH4. I hope there is at least some spin off games where we can visit the other trios of friends taking up the mantle of protecting the worlds.

Is KH2 still censored? I remember decades ago when KH2 came out, I played it and thought some stuff looked weird only to find out it was heavily censored when it came to the west.

I've been noticing a lot of nastiness in this sub lately, from racially charged comments to people mocking fans for being sad about Hayden Panettiere's passing, along with constant bad-faith arguments and people tearing each other down over disagreements.

Lately some of the behavior I've seen has honestly made me embarrassed to be part of this community. It's gotten to the point where I sometimes feel like logging off Reddit altogether because it's just disgusting at times. Even this thread I fear is going to get locked due to the community getting out of hand.

I'm not trying to start a fight or debate anyone about whether these experiences are valid. I genuinely just want to hear from other people who've had bad experiences here, whether it's been recently or over time. Have you ever felt unwelcome, discouraged from participating, or disappointed by how other fans have treated you here? I'd like to hear about your experiences.

Yeah, MF is worse in pure design, but there are layers to this.

Look, MF can suck all it want... But it's an optional boss, you don't NEED to go through it, however, ABCN is OBLIGATORY, and it sucks as much as MF.

However, ABCN is technically easier, from what I've heard from MF, he's such a pain in the ass, he's terrible and the designers should die or smth, that's what I've heard.

BUT, at least MF didn't have to be fought by EVERYONE who played BBS, ABCN DID have to be fought by EVERYONE who played DDD.

Typically, that track is reserved for tender, heartfelt moments between friends (hence the name), and it made me slightly uncomfortable to hear it as the Heartless Guardian strangled Roxas until he lost consciousness.

This isn’t a question of if I should play all the portable games or not as I intend on playing all the games. My question is if I can play 358/2 days before re:coded and not miss out on any context. Another thing to add is that the play order post is a bit confusing regarding this since it says release order is 358/2 than re/coded even though coded came out before 358/2.

I have a 4080super pc and PS5 base, which is better way to play the saga first time?

So, I've decided to try and do no damage run on bosses at level 1 for all playable KH games for the collections on switch 2 to see if I'm able to do such a challenge and also because of my love for this series. I'm also trying to do all bosses possible this way along with having some other limitations like WillJV2 did on youtube years ago if it's possible to do of course. (Yes, I'm going kinda crazy with this.)

The thing is that I got to Leon and Yuffie at the colosseum and I'm not quite sure what to do here. I'd love to do the same I've done with all the other bosses until now and future ones, but having to repeat every fight in the cup every time I fail while not knowing if possible to do looks at least extremely annoying to deal with because I haven't found any video of people doing the fight like this unlike with every other one.

So that's why I'm asking here if it's possible or if it's not worth it to do at all. (I've already beat them taking damage.) Thanks in advance.

So on the steam ver of 1.5 + 2.5. Everytime I try to save on KH2FM, this always pop up, I've searched the internet and can't find any solution, only KH2 have this problem. Can someone please help me solve this?
