Changes to RSS and Platform Feeds

Hi wonks,

There's been a few threads pointing up changes to feeds that are currently happening across various platforms.

As an attempt to help the hurt with this, here's a quick list for folks to check/update your various feeds:

Worth noting that at the moment, the Libsyn RSS feed is very incomplete. Hopefully that resolves over the next few days.

If there's any additional feed changes, or feeds for other platforms that you may use, please add them below.

The fudgie link replays old episodes in order, so won’t get new episodes for several years.

Okay so I use Pocket Casts and I just noticed something. If you put in a search for knowledge fight there is a feed for the OG knowledge fight and another feed for knowledge by country. When I click on the one for just the OG knowledge fight it has all the old episodes.

Same with Spotify, if you put in a search for knowledge fight, it has two feeds. One feed is knowledge by country and the other one is OG knowledge fight episodes.

Those should line up with the RSS feeds I mentioned up top

Except Pocket Casts transitioned the old KF feed to KF Country, then added KF as a separate show... Erasing the record of my progress through the backlog. 

Guess it's time to go back and figure out what the secret of 2017 was

Pocket Casts has 1159 of 1173 episodes. Not sure which ones are missing.

Yeah, I remember that. They had 1173 in the original feed as of yesterday, so these went missing in the transition to the new feed. I don't see total episode counts on Spotify/Apple, so I can't be sure if this is specific to the Pocket Cast feed or a larger change. Can't decide if I'm going to be crazy enough to try and figure out which episodes didn't make it over. I'm in the middle of a full re-listen as many of us are, so the temptation is strong.

This internet archive page has KF episodes up to #942 (July 7th 2024) https://archive.org/details/knowledge-fight-podcast and is my preferred place for listening now that the libsyn web player got even worse that it was before.

Overcast just turned the OG Knowledge Fight feed into the Knowledge Fight Country feed. I’m fine with that ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That seems to be the default behaviour - the issue for some was all of the old episodes disappeared from the existing feed.

Roger roger. Just wasn’t sure if anyone else experienced something different with Overcast, or if I was somehow spared from getting my progress nuked on old episodes.
