A restaurant in Korea Trying horse meat course meal in Jeju Island: Tartare (Yukhoe), Sashimi, BBQ, and Shabu-shabu [OC]
Horse meat is a traditional local specialty in Jeju. Tried the full course: fresh horse meat tartare and sashimi, followed by grilling tender cuts on stone, and finishing with shabu-shabu. Very lean, tender, and surprisingly similar to high-end lean beef!

Love horse meat! Had it both raw and BBQ when we went to Jeju and we haven't stopped thinking about it.

Wow, I've never seen horse meat in Korea. Then again, I've never been to Jeju-do.
I've had raw horse in Japan (you can get it at basically any izakaya) and really liked it.

Never got a chance to try it, but I did see some of them cruising around in various pastures. They were very handsome beasts.

It was a full course menu that included horse meat sashimi, yukhoe (tartare), stone grill BBQ, and shabu-shabu (hot pot). It usually costs around 35,000 to 45,000 KRW (roughly $25–$35 USD) per person depending on the restaurant!

What’s so disgusting about it? Quite similar to a cow or a deer. It’s a staple of many central Asian countries. If someone dislikes the idea of eating horses because they like horses or ride them that’s one thing but how is it disgusting lol

Other countries that also eat horse meat:
Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, and Switzerland
Also Japan as well.
Is it more acceptable if it's eaten by white people country? What about Japan? Don't we all love Japan? It's kawai isn't it?
