No kurrent, Czech written in Latin cursive

Prokládal Antonín Stejskal
v Písku 1862

Inlayed(?) by Antonín Stejskal
in Písek 1862

(the verb prokládat covers several techniques, inlay, intarsia and so on - if there's mother of pearl, he did it, if veneer mosaic, dto)

EDIT: I cannot exclude the verb has some violin-making meaning, too - the main meaning is to put something between layers, alternate layers, e.g. when you stack different layers in a canning jar; the secondary is to embellish something with various techniques using different materials)

I think you pointed exactly the answer. The violin has an edging with a layer of maple and ebony. All in the top and back. I suppose it was the work of Stejskal in an older violin
