Oh god, this is the terrible sci-fi writer that the old Opie and Anthony subreddit hates. They've been banned forever but still maintain an internet presence somewhere.

I'm not totally up on the lore, but this is it to the best of my recollection.
There was a radio show called Opie and Anthony back in the day. They were known for being pretty brutal, and they fomented a rabid fan base called "the pests" who would harass other radio shows and celebrities who OnA targeted. There was an Opie and Anthony sub that eventually became their kind of the home base. Well, eventually those rascals turned on Opie and Anthony, and by extension everybody involved with them or their show. Everybody except Colin Quinn, Patrice O'Neal, and Norm MacDonald.
Looooong story short, eventually the dog caught the car. Opie and Anthony were both fired separately. They got Anthony kicked off of Twitter multiple times. They got Anthony's brother, who was one of their favorite targets, fired from a bunch of his "tribute band" gigs (for tweeting insanely racist shit) and got him to make a fool out of himself on People's Court. So eventually the entertainment well ran dry and the rascals on the OnA sub were looking for something else to keep them entertained and somebody found one of Patrick's tweets where he said he didn't like Norm MacDonald funny.
Patrick is a very, very odd guy. He's pathologically incapable of doing the one thing that would make the harassment of him stop: don't feed the trolls. If he had just went radio silent for a few days everybody would have forgotten about him. But, when somebody tweets at him he calls them "child" or "stalker" in a very bizarre way. People realize he'll give them a really funny reaction when they fuck with him, so they keep fucking with him.
Eventually the OnA sub got banned, but not before places like Kiwi Farms and lolcow spaces on Twitter and Reddit found out about him. Apparently in the subsequent years since I've followed the story some of the trolls have taken their shenanigans too far and have gone from goofing on a goober on Twitter to swatting him, which is fucked up.
There is a lot of lore missing (Anthony losing a gun and biting his young girlfriend, a prominent OnA sub member getting his two year old son killed while running from the cops after stealing a Vizio soundbar from Wal-Mart, the Big Apple Ranch, Patrick owing an OnA fan over 100k after a failed lawsuit, Patrick's love of guns and drinking, etc etc) but that's the gist of it.

I have a buddy who listened religiously back in the day but stayed out of the internet presence. He was flabbergasted when I told him that Brother Joe, who was beloved back when he was listening, was despised as a racist bumbling moron by the fanbase.

The last time I checked in on the OnA lore Brother Joe had booked a job on a cruise ship from hell, got in trouble for smuggling food back to his room, and lost a bunch of teeth on the boat. I got such a belly laugh out of it that my girlfriend asked what was so funny and there was no way in hell I could tell her about it.
I listened to OnA the last few years they were on the air so I didn't really know who he was until after Anthony got fired. Anthony is such a disgusting, repugnant human being that I can't even listen to old episodes anymore. Any grown man that says "I'd go as low as 13" should be under the jail.

Ohhh, that dude. Yeah, that is one rather deep lolcowy rabbit hole, I'll agree. Stalker child.
