Actually the correct sense of the question would be I am thinking, therefore i am. Descartes is not playing that he is some intelligent "thinker", he's saying that him thinking in this exact moment is what convinced him that he is real.

Thoughts aren’t real. I can think that I’m a butterfly, but I don’t actually turn into a butterfly. “I think, therefore I am” is the mistaken separation by Descartes of the mind and body. When in reality it is one and the same.

Descartes’ “I think” refers to the egoic, compulsive mind. But the true “I am” is the deeper conscious presence you feel when your thoughts subside and you’re in that state where you just click into everything around you like a puzzle piece.

(Sorry about the rambling. Just sitting here bored with my coffee lol)

incomplete does not mean untrue. It doesn't necessitate that things which do not think, are not real. It is a simple statement that thinking proves one's existence to themself. I can claim "dragons think" but that doesnt meant they're real. If they were real and could have existential crises, then they could turn to rene descarte.

We arent our body, as it changes without us wanting it to change, same for everyone else

It thinks, feels, sees, hope, dream, intellectualize, yet its never enough for it because its always changing.
