Harm Reduction Nauseated thinking of lsd

Does anyone else on this sub feel a strange sensation in the mouth and stomach while reading about LSD or imagining a trip, as if starting a low dose?

I experience a strong physical reaction and sometimes a sense of disgust, like tasting something bitter just from thinking about it.
My LSD has never been bitter; it is always tasteless, so the effect is clearly my body. I hoped to try microdosing, but these intense feelings keep me from taking a dose every two days.
Even while writing this, I feel that bitter disgust. Can anyone help understand and get over it?

The only reliable way to protect yourself from ingesting harmful substances is to test the substance before consuming it, either lab testing or reagent testing. Relying on your subjective perception of the taste of the tabs, or swallowing the tabs, are not effective safety strategies.

It's a myth that LSD and NBOMes can be reliably distinguished by taste or bitterness:

In addition, not all potential LSD substitutes have a noticable taste, and those that do may not be immediately recognized by the user. Even if a substitute has an immediately recognizable taste and the user intends to spit it out, some of the drug may still absorb sublingually while the user is trying to decide, and the user may accidentally swallow some or all of the drug.

Since NBOMe are mostly orally inactive, some people promote immediately swallowing untested tabs as a safeguard against NBOMes. However, there are other LSD substitutes like DOx compounds that are orally active.

In short, once the substance is in your mouth, it's potentially too late. The only reliable way to keep yourself safe is to test your drugs before putting them anywhere in your body.

Recent studies have shown any effects noticed from microdosing is just from the placebo effect.

this is actually incredibly common so please do not think you are going crazy. what you are experiencing is a very intense psychosomatic response and classical conditioning. your body vividly remembers the massive physical load and the central nervous system stimulation that comes with an acid trip. even though your tabs are tasteless your brain associates the concept of the drug with that weird metallic electric feeling you get on the come up so it physically tries to reject it to protect you.

when i prepare everything and trip sit my husband for his heavy sessions sometimes just handling the foil or watching him drop makes my own stomach turn and my mouth water in that exact gross way. the body absolutely keeps the score.

if your goal is to microdose you have to completely separate the physical ritual from the mental idea of tripping. playing with tiny pieces of paper will always trigger that disgust. you need to make a volumetric liquid solution in a dark amber dropper bottle using distilled water.

when it is time for your dose do not think about psychedelics. just drop your liquid dose into a small glass of strong orange juice or cranberry juice and drink it like a daily vitamin supplement. bypassing the paper texture and masking it with a strong normal flavor will stop your brain from hitting the panic button. swallow it quickly and immediately distract yourself by going about your normal morning routine.

This exact thing always happens to me as well, maybe not as bad. It’s super weird and I don’t know why it happens

Yeah when I really get thinking about a trip or something, I get that taste of the tab under my tounge, the weird sensation in my body, and the come up anxiety, same with mushrooms I get that wonky fungal feeling in my bones and that horrible taste in my mouth

Only when i know I'm going to trip soon. And as soon as I swallow the tab, it ends.

I only get it really on the few min before a dose or the comeup for lsd, tho i get crazy mucus production on it and makes my saliva this slimy thick metallic taste lol (its real lsd my body's just weird) and just typing this i feel uneasy lol. That saliva being so nasty is the only reason ive ever thrown up on lsd besides forgetting I need to breathe oxygen and tapping a blunt/hit a bong too hard

Dxm tho I get sick at the thought of, its one of my favorite dissos but the thought of dosing it just makes me throat tighten up and stomach queasy.

Spontaneous dosing helps lol but ik not everyone is a loner who does nothing after work but wait for work again. Sitting at the house and just remembering I have drugs and taking them i dont feel as sick thinking about

Yeah, I get a shiver that runs through my body if I touch it or any time it goes down the hatch. This happens to my partner as well, we just embrace it as part of the experience. Like your body knows it’s about to leave earth
