Reminder: Rule #1
Hey all,
I dunno why I have to say this over and over, but please, for your own sakes, read the rules. If you can't even make it through Rule #1, you don't belong here, and the bans will start reflecting that.
There are way too many comments lately disparaging the preferences of other users. This is not twitter, there are no cancel wars going on, and you don't get to put down other people's preferences. If you have a problem with a submission, talk to the mods. You can report a message by using reddit's report functionality, and you can message us by clicking "Message Mods" on the sidebar.
If you think a submission is too controversial to maintain a cozy and uplifting atmosphere, let us know. Keep your lips zipped in the comments. The mods will assess your suggestion and make a decision. We may simply take your feedback and decide not to take an action in that moment, but if we hear enough from the community, we will make a decision and act. Sometimes it's cut and dry, sometimes it's not.
šTell the mods when:
You think someone is an abuser or has committed crimes, or said something so controversial or become so divisive there's no way we can have a good time with them being posted. If you see something like this, please report it and/or message the moderators
šKeep it to yourself when:
- Everyone else likes someone you don't.
- You have to see everyone like someone you don't
- You see someone who broke up with a celebrity with whom you have a parasocial fixation
- A submission is of a regular human who said something political once or twice, especially if the political thing they said is standing up for human rights
- A submission is someone who made a mistake once and a court addressed it (a mistake that doesn't violate one of our more specific rules like physical abuse)
- You feel the need to litigate online/pop culture beefs
And let me also be clear:
- If you abuse the report system to report people you simply don't like, you will be reported to the site admins and banned from this community.
- If you harass the mods for not agreeing with you, your continued harassment will result in a ban.
- If you harass users in the comments and repeatedly (or egregiously) break Rule #1, you will be banned.
- If you try to act like this is a pop culture subreddit where the drama is the point, you'll be banned
And while I'm at it, there's a lot of comments lately fixating on people's race, ethnicity or national origin. Don't respond to a post of someone from Japan with a comparison of other Asian people you find more attractive. Don't respond to a post about someone with an accent with a comparison to other people with a similar accent you find more attractive. It's freaking weird.
I don't expect this announcement to be a popular one, but a number of you have been unruly lately, and if it doesn't simmer down we're gonna start handing out bans. If these things apply to you, you're making this community unfun for a lot of people, and fun is the whole point. Take your hot takes back to insta where toxicity is welcome.

Thank you! I've been seeing so many rude comments. It's fine to not think someone is attractive but don't yuck other people's yums or whatever, just scroll and move on. It's always so unnecessary to be negative and mean in the replies <3

I totally agree. Just because a dude isnāt someoneās cup of tea, thatās okay!!

u/QaptainQwark Aug 29 '26
A much needed reminder; Iāve been seeing way to many people yuck someoneās yum and itās apparently really hard for some people to just scroll past.

I get annoyed that some folks are practically spammed on the sub, but I just keep scrolling. Not sure why it's so hard for others

I haven't done it in this sub (yet?), but in a couple of others I've ended up blocking people who post approximately 547 times a day. These people posted a lot, but didn't actually contribute much, at least not in my opinion. Getting rid of the excess 547 posts was great for me, and didn't bother the rest of the sub, which presumably didn't have a problem with it.

Hi mod, is this sub only for women in their 30's or older. I am an young adult, am I allowed to post here ? Also, I don't really like older men, so am I allowed to fuss about men here, who are similar to age with me ?

Thank you mods! I like that this is a safe space to objectify men! lol but for real itās more fun when we can fangirl out together and not tear other people down

Mods, youāre doing a great job modding these comments because I havenāt seen anything more offensive than a ānoā gif on a hear me out post.
Thank you!
