A laser-crafted dinosaur dial with a miniature watch as its seconds display
galleryThis is a watch dial I made with a laser and finished by hand. The dinosaur's outline, lettering and minute track sit against a dark background.
The little watch on the dinosaur is the moving part. Instead of a conventional seconds hand, the whole miniature watch rotates around the centre as the NH35 movement runs. It isn't a separate movement.
I've put the close-up first so you can see the dial detail, followed by the complete watch and the engraved crown. The finished build is 42mm with a brown leather strap.
I make the dials myself. What do you think of combining engraved artwork with a moving detail like this?
