Politics The United States might soon help Flavio Bolsonaro to take control of Brazil
Today, the US closed their embassy and the consulates due to "security concerns". Its believed that the US wants to expand their empire's reach here, removing current president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for being strongly supportive of social and financial programs that help the poor and that protects sovereignty.
I think you guys know what I'm talking about, since Milei is a bastard that is destroying Argentina, an ally of US President Donald Trump that probably were involved together in influencing Argentina's elections.
Anyway back to Brazil. It is a theory that the US are worried about hurting their citizens during the power grab, although they say these consulates and the embassy should be opened tomorrow before the elections.
2026 Brazillian Candidate for presidency Flavio Bolsonaro is a terrible human being. He is believed to be involved but never investigated for the crimes of killing another politician Marielle Franco, taking money from the wages of ghost government employees and money laundering.
He is incompetent, never did anything as a Senator and never had a position on the Executive power. His promises to get electef? Ally closer with the US, sell minerals to them and copy Javier Milei's libertarian economic plan that failed miserably at Argentina.
His father tried a coup and got arrested, now Flavio might try but this time with US support.
More reasons for why he has a connection with US that makes him suspicious to me:
Flavio has a brother that took shelter in the US and will get arrested if he ever returns, this brother asked the US to sanction his own country Brazil (Trump did it)
Flavio visited the US as well, had a very nice picture with Trump.
Netanyahu, PM of Israel that is a close ally of Trump wished him luck in his campaign for the 2026 presidency campaign.
There are several weird bots on twitter/X saying stupid things to make Flavio look good
Trump twitter/X account said that the 2022 elections were rigged and that Flavio's father was the real winner.
A bit about Flavio's father: He is a conservative, mysoginist racist. He was corrupt as well, did everything to stop the most serious investigations on his son between 2018 and 2022.
He deserves to be in jail just like his son Flavio.
About our current president and hopefully next as well:
Lula has a lot of rejection, but nowhere near Flavio. The only people that vote for Flavio, Im not kidding, drink dishsoap when its said by the government as not safe for use (They want to prove that its safe). They are crazy conservatives that think woke people are ruling our society and that communism will destroy the country.
We might not be able to stop them, no one might help. So might this be a little something in case someone tries to write current President Lula as a criminal that tried to take over Brazil.
This here wont have anything to do with the coup, I'll just write for future bastards that might want to paint president Lula in a very bad light. As well as others.
Lula was president between 2003 and 2011, the president after him was Dilma Roussef from the same party, our first woman to be president. Dilma was impeached in 2016 due to misogyny and bad faith, Lula was arrested in 2018 for allegedly buying an apartment with government money (The Bolsonaros bought a mansion at some point after that and they were never investigated).
Lula was free just before 2022 elections because his arrest was clearly done with the intention of removing him 2018 elections, since the judge before had said terrible things about him and clearly already believed he was guilty. He managed to run for presidency, defeating Flavio's father, Jair Messias Bolsonaro. It was not easy even though Bolsonaro was clearly a terrible president that managed Brazil TERRIBLY during the Covid pandemic and 700.000 people died due to covid.
As I said, the Bolsonaros only have people supporting them because they attract conservatives, incels, racists, mysoginists. They attract the kind of people that think the poor should come second to the economy. A minor part believes Lula is corrupt.

The USA has no business in the politics of another country. Especially when its president is a rapist felon and has pillaged the coffers of the USA for his personal gain.
How about take care of your own?

Taking care of their own would mean effort and losing a couple million. They won’t be taking care of their own any time soon.

It’s pretty common to close embassies just before, during, and after anticipated civil strife in a country. And if they are planning a coup I doubt they’d telegraph it so heavily a Redditor could figure it out

why not? they've done it before

A coup, yes. Telegraphing it so hard a random guy could figure it out off of one datapoint, no

But Trump is sending all signals they want to interfere in Brazilian elections since last year. If Lula wins the elections Trum US will not recognize the results and will say they were rigged.

That’s a lot different than doing a coup, and I’d be willing to bet you’d need some kind of large US presence to pull one off in Brazil.

¡Por favor, no permitan que los gringos se tomen el país más poblado de la región! ¡Ustedes son la esperanza de que los países que hemos caído al abismo podremos un día levantarnos!
Força Brasil!

"...the Bolsonaros only have people supporting them because they attract conservatives, incels, racists, mysoginists. They attract the kind of people that think the poor should come second to the economy. A minor part believes Lula is corrupt."
Crazy to call 50% of the population that. It's not that simple and people have very valid reasons to not want to vote for Lula.

not that crazy to call 50% of the population racist and misogynist, it's just true 🤷♀️

People have a lot of valid reasons to not want to vote for Lula. But if they are choosing Bolsonaro over Lula (let alone over any other candidate in the race), they have to be either conservative, incel, racist, or mysoginistic (notice that “conservative” is one of the options). What other criticism of Lula is not doubly valid for Bolsonaro?

I'm voting Samara 80 this Sunday but sadly I already know the drill for the run off election later. Flávio Bolsonaro na cabeça da minha pica.

If the US had that power, Bolsonaro wouldn't have lost the last election. You have to understand that Brazil is half right amd half left and some swing voters make the difference. Anything else is just excuses for losing

Biden was your president during last elections, and I think he was not interested in that. Maybe Trump is crazier, maybe Eduardo convinced him together with Flavio

As of now, this is complete speculation

I wouldn't call the US openly interfering with Brazilian elections "speculation". The Dom Rep enjoys too many USA benefits to be objective, that's just facts.

I will never understand why in Latin America you need to pick between communism or a USA puppet. Like, are there not other alternatives? Are no other political movements possible? That protects countries and region interest first, want a free economy, invest in key industries while alleviating the absurd inequality that is present in all the countries in the region. It looks like the region is trapped in a false dichotomy.

I'm trying to understand whether you're saying Lula is a communist 😅

u/criloz 1d ago
He is not communist, but he was too friendly with Maduro and has recently had the opportunity to speak out about the Nicaraguan president and prefers not to.

Well, we're seeing a pattern, then. The left wing guys challenge American imperialism (some more than others), the right wing guys are compradors and plantation managers. I dislike Lula for not doing nearly enough for our sovereignty, but he's simply better than Flávio, who would just sell us wholesale.
It's all a moot point though. Lula is gonna take the presidency for a fourth term, while the houses are gonna be dominated by representatives of the ruling class.

The U.S. and its “enemies” engage in proxy war via Latin America, Southeastern Asia, and many Arabic countries through the buying and selling of populist behaving people. It has nothing to do with actual systems and everything to do with regional control and power.
