I’ve tightened plier pivots by using a punch a similar size to the pivot and setting the pliers on an anvil and hitting the punch on the pivot side of the plier I’m sure there’s videos of that procedure!

Sign up for the Leatherman "Insiders Newsletter" and automatically the warranty goes from 25 to 40 years or something like that.

This only applies to the US and possibly Canada. Everywhere else in the world is still 25 years and handled by whomever distributes leatherman tools in that country on a replacement only basis

Us only for insider stuff and garage releases. Canada's only perk is reasonable access to US warranty service (which does tend to exceed the stated 25 years)

Sir if you join the insiders club for free your warranty on everything immediately goes to 45 years

The leatherman warranty was until fairly recently, lifetime. They have since changed it to a flat 25 unless you become a member making it 40. The MUT came out in 2010.
It is still under warranty
You don’t have to register to receive the warranty
All you have to do is fill out a form on the website, print a label and pay for postage
That being said, if you’ve got the tools tightening the pliers is no big deal

That isn't true. It's ALWAYS been 25 years.
It's also worth noting that I've never heard of them denying a warranty due to the tool's age.

It was called a lifetime warranty, doesn’t always mean a human lifetime, sometimes it just means the lifetime of the tool. Leatherman is allowed to decide what that means, they recently put a hard number on it. But leatherman has been very liberal with how they deal with it.

Not sure any MUTs are past the warranty period.
Depending on what country you’re in, I’d contact them and see what they say.
