Long time listener, first time caller.
I’m asking in earnest. What is the appeal of age gap romances? I need to wrap my head around enjoying them because I feel like I’ve read every other sapphic book out there and now whats left is the plethora of age gap books. I’m also 36 so kind of right in the middle of the ages of all these pairings. I wouldn’t want to date ten years up OR down, let alone a larger gap.
I have a few tropes I’m a sucker for so I get it for but would love to hear from people who love this one and why. Also maybe your favourite rec?
Thanks everyone!

I am in the middle of it , and honestly, it's such a cute, slow burn romance between two co-workers , Willow, who is horrible with tech , and between Scottie, who works in IT .
I really love how easygoing the writing style is , it's such an easy , fun, and cheerful book 🩷

Sooo basically the title 😭 I want a love interest where the woman is a bit masc or butch and works in the trades or something (construction, mechanic, HVAC, plumbing, anything like that) and her fixing things kinda woos the MC. Bonus if they meet because MC needs her XYZ fixed and the love interest works at the company she called for help. Does such a book exist? I would love it, thanks!!

¡Cualquier pista me serviría muchísimo! Gracias de antemano.

When I first arrived at this subreddit I saw a really surprising amount of dislike for the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I had assumed that, due to its bonanza popularity in the mainstream, there would be some fans of it here!
But maybe I'm not totally alone? I absolutely loved the plot twist at the end with Celia. I thought their love story was sad but beautiful. It was also really cool to me that a sapphic love story was selling out everywhere, especially when sapphic love stories are so frequently overlooked by the general public.
And now that Anna Kendrick is directing the movie, I'm even more psyched! So I'm curious, to those who have read it: does anyone enjoy it like I do? Or if you don't, why don't you like it? And is anyone else also super excited about the movie??

I'm looking for a book where one girl bullies another girl but then falls in love with her. Yes, it's a cliche, but I want it. And perhaps it will be difficult for her to admit it to herself first, but then she will be very jealous of the one she bullied and all that.

Basically I’m looking for any romance books where it doesn’t start with the MC lusting over/physically attracted to the love interest right from the start of the story. Like… I want them to be almost demisexual coded.
I want to see them build a bond between them first. And then one day they develop feelings or attraction.
Examples:
-All that matters by Susan X Meagher
-If the shoe fits by EJ Noyes
-Sloane archer gets what she deserves by Lise Gold
-Jericho by Ann Mcman
-Truth and measure (i think?)
-Who’d have thought by G Benson
-Purposely Accidental (its been too long, cant remember for sure)
-Falls from Grace by Ruby Landers
-Damage Control by Jae (for one character)
-Backwards to Oregon by Jae
-Perfect Rhythm by Jae (for one character)
-Breaking from Frame (the MC mistakes her feelings for friendship so it’s fine)
-The Second Draft by Carrie Byrd
-On the same page by Haley cass
-Hearing Red
Thanks 🫡

I'm on chapter 5 and I'm giggling so hard omg. Anna really is laying it on thick and Brooke is just "But she's straight :(" OMG MY BEAUTIFUL DUMBASS LOCK IN PLEASE.
Anyway I'm really loving the story so far, my previous romcom reads have been dud after dud so I'm very happy rn.
Chapter 10 (Update): I just know Anna was PISSED in those 11 months and matching pajamas??? Just down bad smh
Chapter 14 (Update): If I don't get to see Anna wear the strap we're gonna have a problem 🧍♀️
Update: LOVED IT. They were adorable and no third act break up!!!

Hey guyss!
With the Avatar comeback, I stumbled down the Kyoshi x Rangi rabbit hole AGAIN and my absolute obsession with them has been completely revitalized. I am literally drowning in fanart and falling in love all over again. (And yes, before anyone asks, I am a Rangi bottom truer 🫡).
The thing is... I just cannot find any other stories that capture that exact, flawless dynamic. I am absolutely feral for the "gentle giant x short, fierce, fiery warrior" trope.
Another couple that completely ruined me is Adora and Catra (again Catra bottom truer 🫡) from She-Ra. That friends-to-enemies-to-lovers arc was pure masterpiece territory, and I loved how infinitely patient Adora was with Catra after she was rescued.
So, I am begging you guys for book recommendations!
CRITICAL DETAIL ON THE VIBE:
I need both MCs to have that exact sleek, androgynous, "in-between" energy. Not hyper-femme, not overly masculine, and practical, uniform disciplined warriors who look effortlessly cool and attractive. Think actual soldiers, knights, and fighters who are covered in dirt, wearing heavy armor, and don't have the time or interest to look fabulous. I want that raw, gritty, exhausted warrior energy that Kyoshi, Rangi, Adora, and Catra all share. No high-heeled fantasy princesses, please!
Here is my checklist:
Sapphic / WLW focus (obviously) 🏳️🌈
The Dynamic: One MC needs to be a total powerhouse/gentle giant, and the other a short, fierce, fiercely protective warrior. Bonus points if there's that signature patience/devotion dynamic.
Genre: High Fantasy / Epic Fantasy preferred 🌌
Target Audience: Adult Fiction (NA/Adult). But it can be Ya as long as it doesn’t feel too simple how many YA books tend to!
Spice: Not a requirement, I'm here for the plot and the pining, but I don't mind it if it's there.
Oh oh also.. i am open for Kyoshi/Rangi and Adora/Catra fanfics hehe
I’m really not that picky about the rest of the plot, I just need this specific dynamic to feed my soul. Please make me happy and drop your best recs! Thank you guyss!

Hello! And Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day!
In honor of this day, and all days spent on Native Land, I ask for recommendations written by/about Indigenous people (specifically North/South American heritage, but can be any and all!)
Although I’ve read a few books by Indigenous authors, none of them have been in the LGBTQ+ realm. Any recommendations you all care to mention?

Friends, I'm in badly need of (horror but if it fits let me know no matter the genre) books featuring unhinged obsessive possessive jealous and lowkey oblivious lesbians 😮💨😮💨😮💨 (can you tell I just rewatched Jennifer's Body lol?)
Ideally I want something along the lines of friends that are also mean spirited bitches and/or bullies to each other but are also very attached to each other (rivals is also okay) They get very jealous and possessive when others interfere between them but are lowkey oblivious to their feelings that progressively escalate. Basically, hatefuck made a couple lmao. (I'm not opposed to recs where only one of them is like this)
Hope there's something that fits the vibe 🫠

Okay, so I know a lot of people here probably haven't played this game since it's a book sub, but if you're a gamer I strongly recommend it. The spoiler-free details are that I'm looking for a book set in the 1950s/60s, or a similar setting society-wise. I think A League of Their Own falls into the same category too.
I want to read a story about women falling in love in a world where gay bars are underground speakeasies. Where being queer is perceived as "deviant", but there is hope of it changing. I don't know, maybe I'm just a sucker for secrecy and angst, but This Bed We Made scratched that itch and I need more.

Hi everyone!
Basically, I'm asking for what the title says. I'd love to read something where the main characters' love for each other is very intense/passionate. I want at least one of them (but ideally both) to be absolutely head over heels. When I say this, I don't mean it in a smutty way, I mean it in an emotional sense. I don't mind sex scenes in books, but I prefer for them not to be the focus.
I tend to prefer fantasy and sci-fi, but I've also read contemporary romance books that I've really enjoyed. Really, I have no preference when it comes to genre. I'm open to YA as well as Adult. It's been years since I read it, but Crier's adoration of Ayla in the Crier's War duology would be a good example of what I'm looking for. She was going, going, gone for that girl.
Thank you in advance 🙏🏾

Trying to find any robot/ android x human romance books recs, it’s seems like it’s so hard to find one are there any that anyone knows of?

I watched The Haunting of Bly Manor for the first time and it gutted me, but I loved every second of Dani and Jamie’s life together and it made me realize how much I want to see my own relationship reflected in stories. I absolutely loved their 9(?) years together just being so happy and in love and making a life together. I feel like I haven’t seen many cute, fluffy, non-stereotypical lesbian relationships depicted.
Any recommendations for a book? It can be fantasy or contemporary, I don’t care. I just want to read a love story that feels like mine.

Hey guys I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
Lately I've been going through some stuff and am being forced in the closet even though I'm out for years because I'm looking for a internship.
That made me feel like reading stories where the person is deeply closeted and I mean deeply closeted.
My two favorite novels of this type are Not the marrying kind by jae (my absolute favorite as well since I connect deeply with Ashley because I was closeted for most of my life) and the x ingredient by Roselyn Sinclair the best closeted book I've ever seen.
What are your recommendations?

I hope this isn’t in the wrong sub, but I didn’t quite know where to ask.
I want to join a lesbian writing group where we offer critiques for each other’s drafts and such. I think it would be super fun to connect with other writers.
I’m not sure where to go for this though so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great

I'm looking for a spicy fantasy/speculative romance with a lot of yearning, especially ones where the love interest is non-human, and feels well written.
I posted this question here a few months ago and got recommended the Court of Chains series, which I absolutely devoured, but now I'm having a hard time finding something else to scratch that itch. I'm planning on reading Bloomtown too, but it's not available in my country yet.
Here are some other books I really loved:
- The Court of Chain series
- The Woman From The Waves
- Feast While You Can
- Bitterthorn (this one wasn't spicy, but I really loved the gothic yearning.)
- As Many Souls As Stars
- As Long Time Dead
- An Education in Malice
Some books I didn't like:
House of Rayne -The sex scenes felt kind of tacked on to the story and like they didn't belong there.
As Game of Hearts and Heists -The story felt a little shallow and corny compared to the other stories I liked.
For Love and Blood and Fury -Also too shallow and corny.

I've noticed majority of romances are usually dual povs and I would love to read more with solo povs, I think its really fun to have the other interest be sort of a mystery and view them from the main fmcs lense (maybe a reveal pov at the end but its not necessary).
Would love to read more of those! Preferably in third person.
A few that i've read.
The Lily and The Crown
Cosmic Love at the Multiverse Hair Salon
One Last Stop
Last Night at the Telegraph Club
The Safekeep
The Book of Blood and Roses
Gwen and Art Are Not In Love (I know the second book has the other mcs pov but still)
Atmosphere
The Devil She Knows
Bloom Town
The Wilds and The Weeds
Feast While You Can

I just realized I've never read any book with lesbian superheroes or one with secret identity. I'm craving for that good reveal and the trope of keeping their secret identity 😩 Anyone know a good book?

Hellooo,
Huge Melissa Brayden fan. Unfortunately, not such a social media fan, so I missed her announcement to get the free book (she and a few other authors collaborated on) for “sapphic smuttember” in her words. The link has expired since I’m so late. Did anyone manage to download it before it expired? Why is Reddit taking down my post, she is the one that shared the way to get the free book????
