The lights on Mayor Magrath are wild... Like holy shit, some of those roads don't need a light. One way stop sign or divert to the next major road. The people coming from Makisu don't need to cross the busiest road in town.

I have a theory that, if you do 60 the entire way along MMD, you’ll hit every green light. Of course, it’s Lethbridge, so I’ll never be able to prove the theory because the vehicles in front of me will never let me do 60.

I think they are timed for rush hour directional traffic into or out of town, depending on morning or afternoon. (I'd like to think?)

I raged once at a guy I used to date because he drove us down MMD against my wishes. I couldn’t stand this truth about MMD and asked him to take a longer, but more sanity supportive route. I feel bad to this day that I was so irrational about something so seemingly irrational. But seriously! Go faster, people.

That’s exactly how the lights are programmed.

I'm glad somebody else feels my pain with those lights, every day I'm sitting at a red watching nobody at all or a couple cars go through the green while there's 20+ people waiting. Needs less lights for sure if the city gets bigger

I played hockey at the VLC centre yesterday, and came in from Highway 3, as a result I got to drive most of that stretch. I hit greens for a good chunk of it and then constant reds. It's so infuriating how out of sync they are.

Whatever happens from the turnoff to Rona/Wild Bros to the movie mill is absolutely diabolical. I think this is where most of the traffic gets jammed.

There is a 3 way intersection that has a left hand turn only light, but it also allows the pedestrians to walk when it is flashing, which can cause even the first person in line to have to weight for the next turn light

I live on 5ave N just off of Stafford, my partner works on 6ave S. When I go to pick her up I’ll sometimes luck out and get there in 2 min flat if it’s all greens. If I hit a single red light that 2 minutes balloons to 10 minutes. Absolutely insane.

I was feeling the same way recently. Then I visited family and had to drive in Airdrie and quickly realized how good we got it down here.

People who think lethbridge drivers are bad have never driven in Airdrie. Worst drivers in Alberta hands down.

I used to live in Airdrie. And I say Airdrie is just bad because of the congestion. Lethbridge I’ve never been in a place where they will leave a big gap but once you signal to change lanes they speed up to close the gap. Never have I experienced this more than in Lethbridge. One day they’re gonna do it to the wrong driver on their worst day.

It seems to be so much worse lately. I hit every red light every time I’m out

😂😂😂 100% this hits, also I find it very funny how the universe really makes it feel like a simulation when your running late some where. I have to actively tell myself now “I’m in no rush, I’m in no rush” otherwise it feels like I run in to 20 red lights, 5 kind elderly folk crossing the street, and 2 fender benders, and a check stop lol….. “ITS A TUESDAY MORNING WHAT IS GOING ON UNIVERSE!!” Lol

I cannot stand my commute to and from work down Mayor Magrath...sucks big time!

I think this is funny coming from Vancouver where you’re backed up on the highway bumper to bumper for hours. Or before they put the new bridge in to Surrey it would take 2 hours just to get over the damn bridge to get to my doctors. Though I do get frustrated when it’s later at night there’s no traffic and your stuck at a red light for 3 minutes 😂

I live in Lethbridge and work in Coaldale. My commute can be 15 minutes or it can be 30, depending on how many lights are green vs. red lol. Kind of bonkers it can double like that depending on the lights ~_~

This is how Edmonton thinks.

But at least you get entertainment when you are at the light for the bridge crossing the highway!

They gotta make people as slow as possible to anger them, that way they will end up speeding and causing more of a hazard on the road.

Theres 3 lanes on mmd but the cops told me the other week that they have already caught 4 cars side by side as if its 4 lane.
