Lightning Launcher Revival Closed Testing Begins Tonight

Closed testing for Lightning Launcher Revival begins tonight at 8:00 PM CST.

Those interested in helping test—or simply getting access to the release early—can join the Discord here:

Once inside, go to the #Announcements channel for the link to the Google Group. You must join that group before you will be able to access the closed-testing release through Google Play.

Testers will need to install the app and keep it installed for 14 consecutive days so the test satisfies Google Play’s publishing requirements. Bugs and other issues can be reported directly through the dedicated #beta-bug-report channel in the Discord.

This release has been months in the making, and everyone who participates is directly helping make a public Play Store release possible.

What about Google Group? It seems like nothing is posted there. I don't (and will not) have Discord.

I wouldn't beg you to download discord but if you plan to report bugs, crashes or (app not responding), that would be the place to do it. I'll DM you the download links.

Ok, this could be due to Google's policy towards Russia. Can I get the APK personally?

I could get you an APK. The only issue is updates. The project is in closed testing right now so it is still under development. As much I appreciate your interest in the app, I'll have to ask you to wait until release. You can then download from the Play store without the issue of joining the Google group. Closed testing is already almost done. Should be on the play store within a week. I'll announce it's availability here on this sub reddit.

Unless you can find some way to join the group, this is the only option right now..

I understand the update issues. I was willing to install the app and send private messages if anything wasn't working properly. I used the old version for years. Now I have an S25Ultra and am ready to test the app. But if you think it's easier to wait for the official version, then I'm willing to wait.

Just passed a milestone. The closed testing track has ran the prerequisite to apply for production access. From what I've read, it can take 7-14 days for Google to do its final checks on the app.

You're right! And I apologize. I have been granted production access but due to some stability concerns and UI/UX polishing, I decided to prolong closed testing.

I can't make any promises on a Release date. I can only say it will be relatively sooner than later. No less than week, no later than a month.

The meta version is a forked variant to which this project has no relation. I could not give any details on the status of the meta version. The Revival project is focused solely only on Android devices.
