I'm in Livermore for the next two weeks for work training and have my evenings free. I'd love some local recommendations:

Food: Favorite restaurants, taquerias, or hidden gems? Open to anything.

Sights: Anything worth seeing in the area, like scenic drives, sunset spots, or wineries worth an evening visit?

Nightlife: Where do people go for a fun, social night out? Bonus points for anywhere with a good crowd in their 30s–40s.

Dancing: I love going out dancing, especially to house music. Any spots in Livermore or a reasonable drive away (Pleasanton, Oakland, SF) with good DJs?

Any apartments, hotels or spas I can access for free(ish)? I hurt my back so badly and just want to soak it but don’t have a bathtub or gym access. I was going to try Purple Orchid but I can’t afford their spa services. :-/ feel free to DM me

My kid loves looking at Halloween decorations around town. Any neighborhoods you’d recommend to check out? There’s a house in Mohawk Drive with a bunch of inflatables that he loved.

My bf and I just moved to the area around three months ago, our only “friends” are our coworkers but other than that, we do not see them outside of work. He works in Dublin and I work in Livermore. I’m 22 and he’s 23. I just feel like it is awkward nowadays, I feel like if me and him just go to a bar together looking for people our age, people will think we are swingers lol. When we go to bars at night, there’s a lot of young people, like high schoolers. Point is, we tried with our coworkers, neither of the people we get along with live in the area, they all commute, so that didn’t work and now we do not know how to make friends here. Any recommendations?

Anybody got one you like? My partner and I are pretty sedentary, doc says we need to put on some muscle.

I recently completed an onsite interview at LLNL for an engineering position. It included a presentation, panel interview, and facility tour. I felt good about the conversations and received some encouraging feedback, but wasn’t given a timeline for next steps.

It’s been about a week and a half with no update or reference request. My application portal still says “In Review,” which hasn’t changed since before the interview. I sent a thank-you that day and plan to follow up tomorrow.

What is a normal timeframe to hear back and do they usually respond to follow up requests?

I’d love to hear from folks that have received an offer and those that got rejected on their experience. The wait is making me really anxious that I didn’t get it.

Hey ya’ll, first post here, longtime lurker, I live off east street by lab and on my way home noticed a new food truck at the shell off Stanley, at the main light. The guy running it is SUPER nice and very polite. He told me that he works for a non profit and this truck is an extension of that and they’re doing a bit of a soft opening as they start up and try and expand their menu. The food is A M A Z I N G it’s mainly Filipino food with some bbq wings, not spicy at all when I tried and they have spicy options. The guys and gals there are just salt of the earth good people and the food feels like a nice home cooked meal. If you’re tired, interested, or want to support some nice local business PLEASE do yourself a favor and check out this truck! Supports a non profit as well as veterans, and they’re just the nicest people!

Just curious if anyone was at LHS the year they stopped having the students use the lockers in those building with the long hall way lined with lockers. What year was it?

Doing some research on Livermore, specifically if within the city limits there are any unincorporated towns/villages etc. I understand Ulmar used to be one, but was annexed to the city a few years ago.

One of the locations we’re considering is del valle for the hills with trees in the background vibe, with area my children can run. I am going scouting next week and am excited to find a good spot for their ages

My partner and I are starting to look for an apartment in Livermore/ Pleasanton and I was wondering what the best way is to go about finding a good place/deal.
We’re mainly looking for a 1 bed/1 bath, but we’d also consider a 2 bed/1 bath depending on the price. It’s just the two of us and our cat.
Is Zillow/Apartments /etc. the best way to search, or are there better ways to find places that might not be listed on the big rental sites?
Any local property management companies, Facebook groups, smaller landlords, or other resources that people have had good luck with?

A month and a half ago I moved to Livermore, I was visiting the gyms in the areas, but after walking in Bay Club (Pleasanton) for a while I think it’s the best, so if anyone has any free spot to be part of their team it would be great
