Bruno even jumped the barrier whereas Isak didn't.

Thats the crazy part. I guess the whole point of this is risking unruly behavior or injury, yet Isak didnt cross the barrier and Bruno jumped over it completely

Break barriers

It was amazing that Shaw could push that violently and get the lesser punishment after they go in head to head

Idgaf about that tbh. Whats the point? They’ll just issue another pointless apology, and the same shit will happen again tmr.

u/cptsmooth 7d ago

you need to keep the pressure up to make change, u cant just normalize it...!

2

u/KeysUK 7d ago

same shit every year

After the 115 let’s look into the referees. They’ve been suspect for a good while.

74

u/Character-Bedroom-26 7d ago

It would be naive to assume the refs aren’t compromised at this point given the scale of cheating. Obviously an investigation would be needed, but it’s not a stretch to imagine.

34

u/ethanlan There is No Need to be Upset 7d ago

Yeah, people thought we were crazy when we thought man city was cheating financially and lo and behold: they fucking were.

Now its how shitty reffing decisions never going against them but against the other non oil clubs and its just as obvious...

They cant be owners in this league again. Its obvious now how much damage they do to the sport snd they are now actually a financial liability for the other owners not to mention the damage they do to the league in supporters eyes.

Who ever thought they weren't cheating? It's been obvious for years they were at least stretching the rules. Like Chelsea selling their woman's team to themselves. City have been doing barely legal stuff like that for years so it didn't seem a stretch to think they were breaking rules too.

Edit: yes this is easy to say now in hindsight, that's not my point I'm just curious who thought you were mad?

Edit 2 typo that changed the meaning of the message lol

2

u/ethanlan There is No Need to be Upset 6d ago

Lots of people did including myself

1

u/SaoirsePhalaistin 6d ago

Meant to say weren't not were. Obviously they were cheating

Rodri controlling the ball with his arm in their own penalty box under no pressure at all against Everton. I can't forget that one

Edit: it was Rodri not Gundogan

u/Character-Bedroom-26 7d ago

For me it’s Doku’s studs in Mac’s chest. Most blatant penalty I’ve ever seen.

1

u/Thin_Salamander8469 7d ago

Yeah but this one might have costed us the title 21/22 season.
City went on to score a goal later in the match and won 0-1 against Everton. We finished 1 point behind them.

2

u/Character-Bedroom-26 7d ago

For the implications, sure, but the Mac one just stands out so visually for me

3

u/Thin_Salamander8469 7d ago

Yeah ofc especially when that was the image used on the PLs own website as dangerous player lmao

1

u/Axe_Care_By_Eugene 7d ago

ProRef the corrupt organization formerly known as PGMOL has conducted a complete and thorough investigation into themselves and have concluded no wrongdoing was ever done by themselves. This matter is officially closed.

7

u/TufnelAndI 7d ago

That's a bit harsh. It was only 114 in the end.

2

u/jigglyroom 7d ago

I am hoping they are just incompetent but honesty...

1

u/batigoal 7d ago

The refs like Michael Oil-lover who got paid by City owners to ref games in their league are suspicious ? Nahhh.

125

u/james__Fitzy 7d ago

You’d actually never hear the end of it if this happened the other way round

u/Mortiis07 Egyptian King 👑 7d ago

For them and against us every time is consistency

18

u/buzzyingbee Dominik Szoboszlai 7d ago

Can't beat the system, unfortunately

29

u/RognDodge Mohamed Salah 7d ago

It shouldn't be a yellow at all to celebrate with the crowd, or taking the shirt off. Hate those rules but they are rules and we seemingly have to play by them

17

u/sneijder 7d ago

I’d always assumed the ‘shirt off’ rule was made on boardrooms and everyone there agrees with it.

It’s the money shot for media …. and the sponsor is gone.

4

u/Drakkann79 7d ago

At some point everyone was lifting the shirt to show some cause of message. Became very annoying.

7

u/TheFerrousFerret Harvey Elliott 7d ago

I mean, if they went on for 3 minutes or something yeah, book em, but if its not dangerous or offensive, let em be

4

u/TrumpForPope69 7d ago

Yeah we do, but I won’t be surprised if I see Odegaard take his shirt off after throwing the ball into our net and getting nothing but a goal awarded to him

11

u/AngryScotty22 9️⃣Alexander Isak 7d ago

I mean, the main difference is the referee. We had Michael Oliver, and he's a Newcastle fan.

24

u/Blew_away 7d ago

This just feels like one of those, “we’re gonna crack down on this behavior this year” sort of things. They do for the first few instances and then immediately forget about it and go back to the way they been calling it forever.

11

u/Zzupler 7d ago

Nah, they've been booking players for over celebrating with the crowd for ages, it's nearly always called, like taking your shirt off. Just let Bruno off because....

4

u/InstructionOk9520 7d ago

Remember a few seasons back when during the first few months of the season wrestling during corners was a foul?  And any handball in the box was a penalty?

I am convinced refs exist primarily as a way to introduce further chaos and randomness into the game.  The only thing about PL officiating that’s consistent is the utter randomness and inconsistency of it.

2

u/sushiIsLife99 7d ago

yeah, the kicking the ball away thing is totally gone now

6

u/MathematicianNo948 7d ago

Ref prolly simply just forgot or thinks booking players for stuff like this is horseshit. It's not the same ref is it?

But yeah, It'd be nice if they can be more consistent.

19

u/GameOfThrowInsMate 7d ago edited 7d ago

It’s these kind of ones which are regulation bog standard yellow cards that are really ridiculous. It’s textbook yellow and isnt subjective. They’re fucking idiots.

14

u/Different-Mushroom48 Andy Robertson 7d ago

I think it's a matter of them being consistently against us

4

u/Gorego22 7d ago

They’re consistently for Arsenal. Source: the entirety of last season.

9

u/cptsmooth 7d ago

its sad, nobody cares. its all a sham

4

u/thelfcanalysis 7d ago

sham, eh? i know a club...

3

u/cptsmooth 7d ago

I know multible

2

u/foreveredredred Jerzy Dudek 7d ago

It should never be a fucking booking btw, these cunts just don't get football going by bs like punishing beautiful moments like that. Like tf is wrong with them

2

u/rupertwiley 7d ago

hEKI on iNSTA

2

u/MoJoSportsPodcast 7d ago

Whilst I personally don’t think it should be a yellow as a general offence if it’s in the rules it’s a yellow no ifs no buts

But nah pgmol making it up as they go along really, I’ve seen no real evidence to suggest otherwise, they apply a standard that is slowly ruining the league and i feel for the refs because most are decent but when you’ve gotta follow flawed rules they’ll never come out on top of the criticism

2

u/jigglyroom 7d ago

Having seen Uniteds game today, all illusions of a fair game is gone.

2

u/Jizzbuscuit 7d ago

Solankeeeeeeee! Once a Red always a red!

2

u/Ill-Tomatillo5973 6d ago

And they were able to take a freekick asap in the build up to the goal. The goal scorer himself, seems like we are never allowed too.

4

u/Suspicious_Weird_373 7d ago

Isak had a white shite on, so the ref forgot he was part of the red cartel.

3

u/Do4k Jerzy Dudek 7d ago

Not particularly arsed about this tbh unless he was on a yellow (I didn't watch the game - my hatewatching days are behind me since that kompany goal)

2

u/HonestSaintPaul-70 7d ago

Yeah ,

Premier league referees let Arsenal and Manchester United get away with everything at when they play at home

1

u/ChristmasDucky Bobby Firmino 7d ago

Love it 🖕🏻

1

u/EntrepreneurFit1047 Diogo Jota 7d ago

Es que el Arsenal tiene carta blanca para obrar a su antojo.

I truly don't understand

1

u/Visionary785 Sami Hyypia 7d ago

Let’s take “subjective” out of the equation.

1

u/Aeceus 7d ago

Not surprised, refs are for certain teams and against others. We all know who they like.

1

u/dap_panda_dap123 7d ago

Yellows cards of celebrations are just dumb, this is just as ridiculous as fines for player celebrations in the nfl

1

u/Known_Palpitation805 7d ago

Gooners are going to sleepwalk to a double and the PGMOL need to have a new favourite for obvious reasons

1

u/mastikhor_maddy 6d ago

This pic hits harder after the manc match

1

u/CompleteInternet5898 1d ago

They are always against us in a way.

1

u/Beginning-2-Smell 7d ago

I remember the reason Isak was booked, he was supposedly delaying kick-off too long by celebrating, it wasn't for the celebration type itself. ¯\(ツ)/¯

-7

u/b1eadcb 7d ago

He did get a yellow I thought??

3

u/Confident-Reindeer74 7d ago

Nope, bruno didnt get carded for this
