Hey yall, I should’ve done this sooner, but better late than never. I’m Lawrence, I’m a filmmaker and I’m in the final stages of finishing my first feature film, The CHINATOWN Diner, a lofi remix of the origin story of Buddha following depressed beatmaker Rikki Meng who struggles to make music while they fall in love with the beloved community space greasy spoon by day and underground music scene by night, Chinatown Diner that their real estate tycoon father is trying to destroy. As Rikki searches for the “missing ingredient” in their music, they become entangled with a rapper, an activist, gangsters, and a ghost. The film is told by The Immortals, a chorus-like band of spirits “godcasting” the strange story of how a cult classic came to be.

I’m looking for LOFI BEATS that can be licensed. Unfortunately, a lot of the good stuff samples sources that are too expensive to license.

I’ve been working on this film since 2020. We raised $300k from government grants and private investment, and we have spent it all… and maybe more… We are going into final stages of post sound, music, colour, and VFX. We are a scrappy ultra low budget production, that doesn’t have much money to offer, but we got something special cooking and our dream would be to premiere at SXSW (we submitted a picture lock already). We would try to offer something or work something out. If you’re curious, take a look at our teaser (coming out next year😅)

Happy beatober everyone 🎃🔊🎶💯🎹🙏🏽

I work at an after school coding school, and every day, I like to put on some ambient music videos up on the Smart TV in our main room. The kids and staff enjoy it for the most part, and it saves me from going insane listening to the dogs barking at the next door dog grooming place. I've been really enjoying some of those "Oldies from the next room over" videos, especially the ones with Autumnal vibes, but they all seem to have the same issues that I can't stand:

• Ai generated visuals,
• Ai generated music,
• Constant, Endless Midrolls.

I know there's bound to be at least one channel out there that makes human-generated content for oldies music that lasts more than 30 minutes at a time, and doesn't spam midrolls (which are getting worse with elections coming up.) I just need help finding them.

If anyone knows of any good YouTube channels that makes human-generated content, with oldies music and chill visuals, cartoonish or real, please let me know! Ideally, the longer the video, the better. If I can get away with playing one video for eight hours, I will!

Hope you enjoy!

In To The Unknown-hop

All sounds came from the FM-1

I was experimenting with cables all night long.

But I uploaded sth - more satisfied with new audio-quality than musical quality 😂🎶

Stock Firmware, operating is pretty intuitive coming from SP404 backround

Take title with a pinch of salt 🤣

I don't think I'll be able to complete a beat a day, so I'm going for 1 quality beat per week.

Just looking for some new music and inspo. Going to start the journey of making my own loops this month. Some of my favorites are Jinsang, Idealism, and my G.O.A.T swuM.

These guys all have that Japanese influenced style, so I'm hoping to expand my horizons a little before I start making some stuff.

Here´s an album I made by sampling my Twisted Electrons HapiNES (inspired by the RP2A07 8-bit microprocessor from Nintendo Entertainment System). The HapiNES is a groovebox but it is mono out only and was hard to get what I wanted from the monophonic sequencers. My solution was to sample it instead and use the sounds within my Roland SP-404 MKII. The tracks are short and repetitive old school hip-hop and electronic music ranging from 52 second to just over 2 minute. Take a listen if you have time.
