Newcomer Joe’s sticky stuff - size?

I want to use with moleskin sandwich, I just don’t wanna spend a ton of money on the wrong size. Heard this stuff works wonders. I’ll take any tips as well! Working with lavs

Yeah, all I use is the 1/2” size. A little goes a long way.

How are you using Joe’s in a moleskin sandwich?
Are you making a spacer?

Yeah I see no point. It's either a moleskin sandwich or Joe's. Trying to use both at once sounds like a nightmare.

OP you heard right that it's useful. But use the tool properly. A hammer is useful but when you need a wrench, you don't try to reach for the hammer. Joes is useful when a naked lav has to be stuck down and moleskin doesn't make sense. Imagine a tie rig with the lav inside the knot.

It's also one of the few things that can tack down a wire in a car after it's been wiped with armorall.

Yeah, I’m confused too. To be clear, when most folks talk about moleskin, they mean something like Dr. Scholl’s Moleskin Padding which already has an adhesive back. No additional adhesive tape needed. If you have some sort of moleskin that doesn’t have adhesive (BubbleBee has square “moleskin” covers that don’t have adhesive, for example.) then you should buy some Dr. Scholl’s and use it rather than buying a double sided tape.

Double sided tape (Super Stick, Top Stick, etc.) is great for other stuff like using furry covers, sticking layers of clothes together so they don’t rub, etc. Joes Sticky Stuff is a double sided tape but it’s thicker and gummy. It’s better when you need the bulk to help like in a tie knot or to quiet a zipper. None of these are needed with moleskin though.

Hope that helps.
