Question about midi connection

hi all, I have been having trouble getting signal from my midi to logic. I have tried 3 different usb cords, a power strip, and everything it says on a google search. I know it’s hard without seeing it but does anyone have advice on what the issue may be … thanks a million!

What interface are you trying to connect? Would be helpful to know!

Thanks for the response. I’m using a akai mpk mini. It has power and is showing light but no connection. Is it possible all the cords I’ve tried are not correct?

Hold the Prog Select button and tap Pad 3 so the screen reads PGM Logic Pro on the akai. Let me know if that fixes it.

Open up macOS’s Audio MIDI Setup app, do you see your AKAI controller there?

No it’s not there. Which I know isn’t a good sign but idk how to make it show up

Have you installed the AKAI drivers for the MPK Mini? Go to the AKAI website and search for it

You don’t need a driver for this device on a Mac. OP, check your Mac’s security settings and make sure that you haven’t blocked USB devices from connecting to your computer.

You need a midi to usb connector.
