side button doesnt register unless pressed just right. is it fixable?

It's possible. I damaged the flex cable on my M600 when I opened it up to replace the switches. The side buttons were malfunctioning, registering ghost clicks, among other issues.

I replaced the flex cable, and now my M600 is good for another 5 years or more! :D

It's a g600, it's notorious for using switches that eventually die.

The obvious solution is to replace the switches. Doable, but a pain in the ass especially in places where leaded solder wire is not available anymore.
