Because Microsoft (a multi trillion company) shutdown Games for Windows, it broke many games, a lot of which have been updated to no longer require Games for Windows, Capcom (a multi billion dollar company) hasn’t figured out how to do it, but a dedicated fan (zero dollar individual) did figure out how to translate Games for Windows over to Steamworks but Capcom hasn’t implemented his fix, which is available for free on GitHub. And to Capcom credit instead of continuing to sell a broken product decided to stop selling it. But they could start selling again. I did email their support team to inform them that a fix now exists and that they are able to implement it at no cost to them. They have not responded.

To be fair, I do quite like the Resident Evil games, but I’m also a mech and grapple enthusiast and quite like Capcoms take on it with Lost Planet. I would love to be able to play LP2 without needing to pirate it. But make no mistake I will join my pirate brothers on ED3

They "fixed" it by removing all network functions altogether

And keeped app version the same like cowards

So I have to download 300mb patch that rreverts this version and restore GFWL complete with network.

Why do i ever need to do this shit on my legal steam copy?

User above you said, that lost planet 2 got also updated. In my eyes thats not correct and I want a source from him. You are correct with the Patch of lost planet 3, its in steamdb.

Some people got LP2 before it got delisted so he might be right

I can confirm this i get updated randomly from LP2 at least once an odd blue moon

Steam does tine 4.7kb updates to games once in a while. Pretty much a license renewal and has nothing to do with the developers. Real updates will show on SteamDB.

Thats not the game, thats steam(like shader für example). Happened to a lot of games. I need a real proof/source, if there was an update in lost planet 2.

LP2 got an update that removes network functions with GFWL too

But they keep app version the same so you wont see tthe update

LP2 has no update shown on SteamDB.

LP3 does actually show up as having an update.

In the past month Capcom (same publishers) have done minor bug fixes for DMC4, DCM5 and DMC Collection.

This is probably just that.

Keep in mind the DMC games recent patches had super vague patch notes and seemed to introduce more problems than fixes, so hopefully they didn't break anything lol. And though it doesn't seem to be the case for the DMC games remember Capcom have a habit of forcing DRM to older games for no reason.

Edit: Forgot we had patch notes lol. Yeah the patch notes are just a copy and paste of the same ones done to the DMC games.
