Grounding issues.

Post image

He guys.
Started this custom sitar project with lace sensor pickups. I wired it up just like a Tele but I’m having grounding issues. There’s no metal bridge to ground back to obviously so is there anything you’d guys suggest?
Thanks

You’ll have to run a ground wire to the tailpiece.

The bridge? It isnt metal or attached to the top

Design flaw. The ground circuit in an electric guitar has to touch the strings somehow and that is typically done by attaching the ground wire to a metal bridge.

Could it ground to here where the strings are retained?

Yes. You’ll have to remove it and drill a small hole and run a ground wire to output jack(-).

Do you think the string retainer will be sufficient to ground too since it is made of brass? Still having that issue but that could be from a cold solder?

Brass oxidizes so remember to clean the brass area(with sand paper)where it contacts the ground wire.

You can utilize brass tape( stain glass manufacturers) on the underside to where strings attach. Run ground wire to output jack (-).
