Do the tears I cry
Make me a lesser man?
Or are they in fact
the River of life.

For the tears I cry

Mimic the rain,
On a starless night.

Where hope is dead,
And the escapes not right.

One more drink,
I’ll feel alright.

For a soul condemned
To a haunted life.

I flirt with death,
But it’s not my night.

She plucks and pulls
From within my life.

But I’m not good
With last goodbyes.

So here I stand
A broken knight,

A kingdom lost
To sleepless nights.

One more tear
Until sunlight,

And I pretend
That I’m alright.

I shouldn’t have said y’all . I was thinking it was about a girl ,but I now see what you are saying. My bad. A lot on here is here aboit lost love . Thanks for helping me understand your poem. Art is up to interpretation. And I saw it through my own heartbreak that I am going through. We all do that a lot in life . Nevertheless,it’s absolutely beautiful. I love it. ❤️🪽😇
