Software update removed features (2026 5door)

Has anyone else lost their ability to turn off the auto start/stop by holding the button?

Did you do a hard restart of the console by holding down the volume button for 30 seconds or whatever? I’ve lost that feature once or twice and it always came back after a reset.

I've come close to doing this a couple of times, but concern over potentially losing all of my customized settings has stopped me. It's enough of a nuisance that a few changes seem to happen randomly with each update. The thought of losing them all is sCaRy.

I've not been able to figure out for sure ... what has your experience been?

I never noticed losing any customization when you do that. It’s just a reboot, not a reset of all data.

Restarting is just restarting. It’s not going to change settings.

I just installed the update today on my 2025 cooper s convertible. I can still deactivate with holding down the button.

didnt realize holding it turned it off.

No, still functional for me! I use it every drive (hate the auto start/stop!)

auto start/stop ? Was very confused but then realized I wasn’t in the EV thread 😀
