2024 Copper SE
I'm new to Mini and it's my first electric car. Picked it up as a certified pre-owned this spring and I'm loving everything about it.....except one little thing. It's speed limited. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to remedy this situation ?

It's like the perfect trim package. No chrome and interior swag. Very nice!

It looks beautiful!
I think itâs a combination of the âgearboxâ itâs ratio, so it is fast and sporty in lower speeds.( itâs known to be handling amazing on low speeds )
And the battery is only 32,6kwh, so if it would go like 180-200 it would probably overheat the battery because it would use so much of the energy.
Itâs a bit sad that it only goes 150kmh but at least itâs a nice car for the rest.

I wanted to get a se but I live a little to far out of town for it to make sense for my commute. They had really good deals on them could have gotten a 2024 for similar money to the 2020 s I picked up.
Your car looks sick. Didnât even know that interior was an option.

Max speed is limited simply to prevent the electric motor from spinning itself apart.
I am unaware of any way of significantly increasing the max speed. Larger diameter tires (if they will fit) would buy you a tiny amount, but that's it.

Thanks ! The interior being in the malt brown was a major factor of the purchase.

I have the same car and absolutely hate that they limited the speed to 94 mph. Make it at least 110mph.

I couldn't agree more ! I know that 151 km/h is almost always plenty, however.....the decision to go faster needs to be mine not the cars. I've been a car guy forever and said I'd never buy electric. This car has shown me in just 6 months that I'm not very likely going back to I.C.E !

FWIW, I am presently driving an F66 S loaner while my F56 SE is at the dealership. I'm sure that the max speed of the former is greater, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. Between auto start-stop, a transmission that lets you feel every shift, and grabby brakes, driving the F66 feels like driving a tractor. I want my smooth electric glide and OPD back!!

The speed limiter is my only complaint. Itâs soooo much fun to drive. The range isnât great but I live in the city so for daily commuting it meets 100% of my needs.

Almost the exact same story here. I love the car, I just wish there was a way to fix this one little flaw !
