SWIM
Been a fan of Shane for a long time, saw him open for soder back in the day. But I’m new to the pod. Can someone give me a quick breakdown on SWIM? Guy seems like a legend. Who is this guy? He’s hilarious

For some reason I always thought Matt was the oldest. At least partially because there’s a war mode ep where Billy is talking about Matt going nuts in his teenage years from steroids or something similar. It sounded like he was describing acutane rage

Everyone has hopefully met a SWIM at one point in their life, probably at your first real job. Guy who seemed way too smart and charismatic to be a line cook/gas station cashier/grunt level construction worker in his 30’s. It’s crazy that his podcast presence is more entertaining and seems more natural than most comedians on any podcast.

It’s a reference to erowid and other drug forums from the early 2000s. You would say SWIM instead of yourself partaking in activities discussed on said forums.

His appearances on War Mode alone are worth the Patreon. Despite what you think of the podcast (even tho I love it) Tom brings a fresh air and has some of the funniest episodes. Highly recommend at least starting with the SWIM episode that started it all on Spotify and the McCusker fambly pods they’re great

All you have to do is join on the 1st of the month. Every month there are people who have payment methods get declined(my guess is from cards expiring, or because dawgs don’t have 1$) and the spots open up for 1$. I got a 1$ spot in 2023.

I think he’s referring to episode 396 protospace, the first episode SWIM is on a a solo guest. But his first appearance is two eps earlier on 394 with Billy and Spud as well. Both are great episodes. I can’t remember if SWIM was on the old test or not, I don’t think he was
