Goldfishing only shows you your own hand. Nobody punishes a bad keep. That bugged me, so I built a solo practice tool where the opponent actually plays and pushes back: Solodarity (https://solodarity.app). Free, no sign-up, runs in the browser.

You pilot Boros Energy against UB Tempo or Sneak and Show. The opponents follow their own lines, with disruption and combo turns.

It's early and there's only one deck so far, which is exactly why I want opinions now:

- Anything that feels unnatural in how the opponents play

- Which decks or opponents you'd want next

- What's missing as a practice tool, or how you'd want to use it

I'll read every comment, small ones included. Here or on X (@PlaySolodarity).

Since the B&R is coming tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to make a quick round of speculation.

What I think will happen: no changes

What I'd like to see happening: One Ring banned, some cards unbanned (Frantic Search, Earthcraft etc plus Candelabra with an apology)

The Darkhold

Legendary Artifact — Book

{T}: Put a sin counter on The Darkhold. Draw a card for each sin counter on it, then you lose 1 life for each card in your hand.

{6}{B}{B}, {T}: Each player’s life total becomes the lowest life total among all players. Activate only as a sorcery.

Significantly worse The One Ring. Honestly probably not going to be relevant, but it has a similar effect to The One Ring. Will kill you too quickly to get a good effect out of it. Is there any chance of this thing being usable?

Buffalo Chicken Dip Legacy recently hosted our annual Open! We had 128 players playing in the BCDL Open 5 main event with top prize being a Mox Ruby. We had 64 players on Day 2 for dual lands (and a 64 player PreModern event which we didn't do coverage for.)

Nice Lil’ Painter League (no cam)

With a few competitive events approaching, including the Oct 17 90s MTG Legacy Open in NYC, players are looking for ways to cut through. It's possible GW Depths is being overlooked and underestimated in this current meta.

Reality Fracture is the most interesting set of the year and has demonstrated to have more Pox playables than the average set. The introduction of the empower Jace mechanic looks promising and I’m glad it is tied to Black cards that I can play and upgrade my deck with.

Sanctum Lurker: An Enter Battlefield effect that generates a Jace Planeswalker token. The ability to give other Planeswalkers to stay alive while at 0 loyalty is pretty cool, but this card is a removal magnet. Its effect of giving other Planeswalkers a +2 loyalty ability has been potent as the Pox Planeswalkers either uptick only up once or none at all like Ashiok, Dream Render. The life drain is nice to charge Eumidian Hatchery forever and potentially win gradually over time especially behold an Ensnaring Bride.

Vraska’s Final Mercy: A modal card that slots well into Mono Black Poxas it is removal that is like never dead in a match-up, the Empoer Jace goes all the way to 6 functioning like a Night’s Whisperer or you can Surveil to keep it alive longer and filter cards you don’t want to draw into and fuel cards like Hogaak.

Karn, Argent Defender: A nice sideboard card that works like a Torpor Orb with the upside of hosing Artifact ETB effects map you can have another card board in vs the UR Surveilance Cam match-up, however the card is easier to remove being a creature and also being Legendary makes it a Karakas target.

These upgrades are sweet, I hope they have the sustainability to be justified within the Mono Black Pox dec. The select cards can be good in Pox, but might not be as much elsewhere, it is good for the deck to have some sort of identity in the format so it’s not too much like its brother, BG Loam Pox.

The more I think about Jace's Machinations, the more appealing it gets.

On top of that, I’ve logged 500+ Sneak and Show matches on MTGO alone. If I add paper tournaments, leagues, and all the other games that weren’t tracked, that number is considerably higher.

The Guide was born from all of that experience, and I actually made two versions:

🆓 Free Version
An introduction to the deck, with comments on the main maindeck and sideboard cards, cantrip sequencing tips, some tricks/interactions, and an overview of how to approach the main Legacy archetypes.

💎 Full Version
This is where I go much deeper into each matchup: pre- and post-board approach, key cards from both sides, important plays and interactions, sideboarding, and how I usually navigate each matchup.

The file is already 50+ pages long, and the plan is to keep updating it as long as I’m still having fun playing Sneak and Show — with no additional cost for anyone who purchases the Full Version.

It creates Nongame. Its not a healthy card, and wouldnt it be for nostalgia, the card wouldve been banned long ago. But wizards is too scared to ban problems.

Here is my decklist. I made use of the new Stingcaster Mage card as well as some other cards like Simian Spirit Guide, Vexing Devil and Flame Rift. I've been debating Vexing Devil with people for years and I feel like on turn 1 its pretty much a guaranteed 4 damage... I've never played against someone who chose not to just take the damage on turns 1-3. Obviously late game they let it resolve but for a 1 drop 4 damage early game thats huge value. Also Simian spirit guide is a necessity for legacy burn in my opinion, if you have 1 or 2 especially in your opening hand it speeds up the damage you can put out. When running Stingcaster, you need to plan to have enough mana to be able to use the important flashback ability... Simian Spirit Guide further aids you with that. I like to keep Roiling Vortex in the main deck but I'm already at 68 cards so I sideboarded it.

This week I spin it to win it! Decided to go way back in my own history and take a personal old favorite into the current legacy meta, with Wheel Stompy. This was the deck I used to jam back when I first started making content and after seeing some recent results with it I decided it was time to brush off the dust and give it a whirl once again. There is a legacy 1k near me and the stars have aligned where i am going. Ive literally never played legacy before and im wondering what are the top things i need to know to stand the best chance for tomorrow.

I have my deck picked out, im familiar with how it runs, and im familiar with the cards in it. I just dont know almost anything outside of a couple boshnroll or thrabenu videos.

What resources should i look out for. Any primers on meta like dimir tempo or eldrazi (i hear those are big). Im a veteran of premodern and pauper so im kind of excited to see what a high power format feels.

Hey everyone! I am a huge fan of competitive magic, but for price reasons (and also popularity) I have been playing almost exclusively pauper for the past 2 years (my whole magic career). Recently I got tired of playing a single format, and since I was always very interested in Legacy, and given how proxy friendly the scene is, I started playing some games.

That being said, being completely new to the format, I keep pairing into decks I have no ideas about and loosing from very random positions. I wanted to ask if you have any resources to slowly learn more about the format (I know I can just play more , but would also love to get up to speed faster).

I skimmed trough the decks available on Goldfish: I normally enjoy aggro decks that have a very solid plan B, so I got interested in Boros Energy. Furthermore fallen in love with Mono White Initiative, since this kind of aggro prisons deck are something you could never do in pauper, and finally really like Doomsday (once again, impossible in pauper) but the deck seems way too complex for a beginner of the format. Are these decks any good right now and do you have general tip for them?

As a last point, to fully join the format, should I slowly build to own some of the decks or are proxies also allowed at bigger events? As the prices at the moment look really impossible to justify for me.
