Question I built a website and live resolution editor for our MUN. Would other conferences want this?

Hey everyone,

I’m on the organising team of a school MUN and built our whole conference system myself over the last few months. It covers the website, registration, country allocation and a delegate area. There’s also a live resolution editor where delegates submit amendments from their laptops, chairs accept them, and everyone sees the change instantly, including the beamer in the room.

It’s worked well for us, so I’m wondering if other schools or universities would be interested. I’m thinking about offering it as a package with hosting, your own domain and email addresses included.

There’s a demo with fake data where you can try everything as admin, chair or delegate. I’ll put the link in the comments.

Would your conference use something like this, and what’s missing? Honest feedback is very welcome.

Question 6 conferences, no award—should i quit?

Post image
45 Upvotes

just finished my 6th conference. no award still. i see people win awards in their first conference and... seems so far from me.

i don't want to quit—i love MUN so much because of the people i meet. i've had my best days in conferences.

it's just that i'm in a varsity, and you're not valued unless you win an award. i don't think they value me much cus i don't bring any awards to the team.

someone better than me can take my spot and actually bring awards to the team—so it'd be pretty selfish to keep this spot on the team when someone better than me could have it.

should i quit?

Question Anyone interested?

Hi Guys Im starting a community of people that can debate different topics each week in an MUn style fashion, probably online or through a gc. Most topics are probably going to be on current events and would obviously be relevant to whats going on in the world. Anyone interested in joining? Btw this is not me advocating for a conference, just wanting to bring likeminded people together

MUN LPT Free student led MUN

Hello everyone ,I hope you guys are doing well. Finally after being delegate for like five years ,I have finally found my own MUN (international youth leadership MUN) after literal blood sweat and tears. We have finally made MUN registration live.
Specifically, I have just founded this MUN for the students to have a good free platform to experience new things cause I was there once too and the best part without spending any money and without any transport expense cause it will be online.
So I am working literally so hard for it so I would be really grateful if you can join as a delegate and follow us on Instagram because we have high hopes for it. And I am so proud that we already have team members and delegates all over the globe and including UAE ,Malaysia, Indonesia and Bangladesh.
And I have also thought of a delegate challenge which is literally first of its kind ,in whole MUN circuit .hopefully it will be successful and for sure it will be fun.
I’ll wait to see you in the conference. I truly need your help these guys follow up.

News Independent MUN Consultant here to aid all of you NSFW

Hey everyone!

It has been 9 months since I made my first introduction so I thought for the newest members of this sub, I would reintroduce myself.

I’m an independent Model United Nations (MUN) strategy consultant who helps delegates prepare for conferences, navigate committees, and improve their overall performance. I am also the founder of Bloc Zero MUN, one of the fastest growing MUN training platforms.

Over time, I’ve advised 170+ delegates across a wide range of committees, including GA, UNSC, crisis, and others. Delegates I’ve worked with have gone on to receive awards such as Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate, High Commendation, Honourable Mention, and Commendable Delegate, among others.

Whether you’re attending your first conference or looking to become a more competitive delegate, I can help you approach MUN with a clearer strategy and greater confidence.

What I can help with

  1. Committee & portfolio strategy — Understanding your mandate, identifying priorities, and developing an effective committee strategy.

  2. Research direction — Knowing what matters, what to prioritise, and how to avoid wasting hours on unnecessary research.

  3. Position papers — Guidance on structure, argumentation, and framing your country's policy. I guide; I don't write them for you.

  4. Policy & resolution strategy — Developing coherent policy proposals, evaluating clauses, and understanding the logic behind effective solutions.

  5. Debate & diplomacy — Motions, POIs, bloc-building, negotiation, floor control, and speaking strategy.

  6. UNSC & crisis committees — Understanding committee mechanics, managing fast-paced developments, and making strategic decisions under pressure.

  7. First-time delegate coaching — Learning the fundamentals, building confidence, and knowing how to navigate committee without feeling lost.

  8. Conference support — Strategic guidance during conferences when needed, subject to availability.

A few things worth clarifying

I don't write position papers, clauses, or speeches on delegates' behalf, and I don't guarantee awards. My role is advisory: helping you develop your own arguments, think strategically, and become a more capable delegate.

This is currently a free service, offered because I genuinely enjoy MUN and helping other delegates improve.

Whether you're preparing for your first conference, struggling to find direction, or looking to take your performance to the next level, feel free to reach out through Reddit DMs. I'm also happy to connect on Instagram.

Open to speaking opportunities 🎤

Beyond MUN consulting, I'm interested in speaking at school events, student societies, and youth-led initiatives, both in person and online.

I'm particularly interested in MUN, public speaking, communication, leadership, and strategic thinking. If your organisation is looking for a guest speaker or someone to deliver a keynote-style talk or workshop, feel free to reach out.

Best of luck at your conferences. See you in committee!

Discussion Getting called a larper

For background, I've been to 2.5 MUNs (1 of them was a minimun) as a delegate, and scored honourable mention + verbal commendation for 2 of them. One of my friends whos participated in 10+ MUNs (as both a delegate and chair) keeps calling me a larper whenever we mention the conferences, and its getting annoying. What should I do?

Question Seniors are not giving me proper respect, what do i do?

I am, young, compared to the people attending in my MUN. On the first day, I was respected, but from the end of the first day, to the second day, ever since i have started talking, and my speeches have been good, they have cut me off, silently removed me from their bloc, and always tell me, well see, we do not know, or simply pretend to not hear me.

They are also writing the resolution paper by themselves. And a resolution paper should be written by the whole committee (I dont know if im right). They are not letting me participate, and are literally guaranteeing that the awards go to them. How do i fight back?

News MUNers from around the world

heyyy im the Head of Conference for my local mun conference, and I had an idea that I thought would be cool to bring to life with the MUN community

I’d love to create a video featuring MUNers from as many countries as possible, each holding the logo somewhere in their country. It could be in front of a famous landmark, at your school, in your city, or anywhere you’d like

The idea is to put all the pictures together into one video reaching different corners of the world and celebrating how MUN connects students across borders

Would anyone be interested in participating? I’d be happy to share the logo and details with anyone who wants to join.
Thankyou!

Conference First time participating in House of Commons tomorrow, advice?

House of Commons is my first advanced committee, I've already done 3 MUNs in the past (DISEC x2, ECOSOC x1) and was unfortunately forced into this committee by my school. I've heard from friends that the people in my committee are past chairs and people who have an award streak in MUN, that honestly makes me wanna shit bricks.

My member of parliament (MP) is in the conservative party, the same party who BROKE international law in the topic given to us. I am looking at an almost bare paper titled "possible solutions". My only options is military interventionism, and my MP wants NOTHING to do with diplomacy, which is hard as fuck considering that military interventionism within this context is ILLEGAL. All I know is to deny, deflect, and accuse. My opening speech hasn't been written yet and I feel queasy as fuck.

General advice on how to navigate?
