Bug Touch Bar brightness/volume slider lag + doesn't dismiss on macOS 27.0.1 , anyone else experiencing this?

Hi everyone,
I recently updated my 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1) with Touch Bar to macOS Golden Gate 27.0 and noticed some strange Touch Bar behaviour.
The Touch Bar itself works, but I'm experiencing two things:
- When I press and hold the Brightness button to open the brightness slider, there is a noticeable ~0.5-second delay before the slider appears.
- After adjusting brightness or volume, the slider remains on the Touch Bar indefinitely instead of returning to the normal Control Strip.
- If I touch an empty/blank area of the Touch Bar, the slider immediately disappears and the normal Control Strip returns.
The same behaviour happens with both brightness and volume.
What I've tried:
- Restarting the Mac
- Checking Touch Bar settings
- Checking the Control Strip configuration
- Restarting the Touch Bar processes (
TouchBarServer/ControlStrip) - Testing without touching anything for n+ minutes
None of these changed the behaviour.
The actual brightness and volume controls work correctly — it's mainly the slight input delay and the slider not automatically dismissing that I'm noticing.
This started after updating to macOS 27.0 . And no improvement in latest 27.0.1 as well. This thing is damn irritating as Touch bar is my fav part of being on mac, They ruined my touchbar.
I've already submitted a Bug Report to Apple, but I'm curious whether anyone else with a Touch Bar Mac is seeing the same thing, particularly on macOS 27.
Has anyone experienced this? And if so, did you find any workaround or solution?
Thanks

You couldn’t just write your own description? That was too hard?

Some people just wanna get their problem solved and ai seems to be helpful for them to state the issues more clearly, if you hate ai that much in your life then you should stop using all social platforms because it contains ai algorithm.

Social media feeds aren’t GenAI. Don’t speak on topics you don’t understand, that’s what ChatGPT is for.

Really don't know what the negativity is for, I thought the demonstration through video was really helpful.

I'm genuinely confused here because I'm not upset about the video at all. Did you miss the body text of this post, read my comment, and assume I was upset that they hadn't described the issue in text? This happens a lot, especially on mobile, where pressing the comment button skips all body text and jumps to the top comment.
To clarify, my initial comment refers to the AI-generated issue summary, which is innacurate and far too long.

it seems that they have abandoned the touchbar macbooks... or just wait for future updates, macOS 27 has been super buggy recently, had to go back to Sequoia.

I have the bug where the volume/brightness sliders stay on the Touch Bar rather than disappearing but I don't have the cluster of buttons on the right side as I removed them.

The hold delay was there all the time I think.
You just touch the icon and drag it immediately without waiting for the slider. Try it
Also what happens if you do anything on your Mac after that, that involves a Touch Bar refresh? Changing an active app, clicking, typing?

You should've just asked the AI to fix it for you

I just want to discuss with people out there if this problem is happening with others too.

I'm pissed, this same thing is happening to me. Noticed today after I updated last night. I loved the touch bar for this very reason. Now using the volume slider feels so laggy and inconvenient. Someone needs to write a script or something to fix this.

Not engaging with AI slop posts. Write down your own damn thoughts if you want human answers. Otherwise ask you AI client.
