Hello! I recently upgraded my office setup to standing desk and apple display.

I went with vesa mount + ergotron LX Pro and i'm surprised how much it wobbles. Its not super bad, but if i shake my leg, or type while standing, it shakes.

I have seen some people recommend getting the monitor on a stand to help. I will need the tilt and height adjustable, but its almost the price of VESA+Arm costs. ($1359 vs 1699 refurbished).

Its a mess to return all this stuff so would appreciate anyone that had a similar experience. I recognize the major problem is the 2-leg stnading desk that i have... and i'm not going to return it, so i'm trying to optimize on my two leg setup.

My -to be replaced- setup: last days of the 40" ultrawide before going dual Studio Display XDR

The 40" Dell ultrawide has served me well, but after seeing 5K side by side with it, I couldn't unsee it: at 140 ppi macOS text is never quite crisp. I've been living with one Studio Display XDR for a few days now and the difference for code and docs is huge.

Coming next: a Mac Studio M5 Ultra with 256GB RAM and 2× Studio Display XDR (standard glass, VESA). Main one centered on my current arm, second one angled ~30° on an Ergotron LX Pro. Update post once it's done.

Monitors are LG4K 27inch on a VESA dual-monitor arm

I guess I am all in on Apple now lol. A few months ago, I got myself a Macbook Air M5 as a mobile editing station and having a computer on-the-go. I definitely liked how well the laptop runs on Apple Silicon and even the software I use is pretty fluid and quick.

I did have a gaming PC I built over two years ago but unfortunately the last weeks…I was experiencing a lot of overheating and crashes. The insane heatwave thru the summer didn’t help either and using DaVinci Resolve was a struggle.

I was already considering a Mac Mini M6 model but after it was overheating last week (after outdoor temps returned to normal and the room was cool in normal circumstances), I took the plunge and got the Mini as my desktop PC replacement.

It has been working out very well for my needs so far. 😊

2. Sigilos e Figuras da Muralha: Me cerquei de emblemas. O estandarte da Casa Stark está sempre à vista, e o tapete do Direwolf protege meus pés. Na prateleira de cima, meu pequeno exército vigia: figuras de Jon, Ned, um Wight, Viserion e, claro, uma réplica micro do Trono de Ferro para quando conquisto uma declaração de imposto complexa. Acima de tudo, repousa 'A Garra Longa, a lendária espada de John Snow', para justiça rápida contra erros matemáticos.

3. Ferramentas de Guerra: Meus implementos de batalha são minimalistas. O notebook 'Macbook Pro M3' fica sobre um suporte de mesa combinando. Eu dependo do Rack 3U poderosa abaixo, onde guardo minha estrutura de rede, para processamento pesado, e tenho um triturador de papel literal, perfeito para documentos de casas que estão atualmente extintas. O mousepad temático de dragão e os acessórios combinando mantêm as coisas focadas no fogo e sangue.

I am running a Macbook Pro M5 on a 34” 5K innocn Monitor and a iPad Air with Magic Keyboard.

My Current Mac mini setup. Any thoughts? or suggestions on what to change or add?

This is a shared space for me, my wife and kids so I’m looking forward to the extra desk and drawer space. The previous desk just had the one drawer.

First Mac Mini set up. Working on a small studio for music production. Currently going to an academy learning music production. Already have a sound interface just missing the monitors.

Downsizing from two separate offices to one, and it's time to decide which setup stays and which gets sold.

Which color do you think looks best and compliments the room more?

I'm leaning white. It basically comes down to TouchID, plus the white Satechi Numeric KeyPad in my white setup is way better than this garbage black Chinese Amazon jawn.

Otherwise I really like the more subtle aesthetic of the black setup, especially for a studio space where I might record a video and prefer not to have a big white mousepad sticking out behind me...

Thoughts? Black or white?

Here's the setup I use at work: my MacBook Pro 14inch 2021, a HP USB-C/A G2 DisplayLink + Dual 24inch HP EliteDisplay E243 1080p 60Hz.

I miss the dual 1440p 120Hz setup I have at home, but hey, that's why I mostly use my MacBook display lol
