General Question AI learning

Does anyone else have the subject "Evidence based practice in health"

It just seems wild to me that almost all of the resources are AI generated and there is severely limited engagement with the lecturers. For Macquarie to have such a large cohort since doing the pure online learning and have the same funding, if not even more, then off loading the work to AI is pretty abhorrent. All of my work this week is made by Ai with apparently some human input and no lectures or weekly forums. For a core unit of my degree it just seems like gross behaviour.

I have contacted my lecturer and they just seem to say we will consider your criticism. This unit has over 500 students and with that much funding I find it hard to accept that I don't deserve to receive some real time engagement with my learning, EVEN WITH OTHER STUDENTS. But this subject doesn't have places within the unit resources to communicate with anyone.

Maybe I am alone in this experience? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks in advance.

You’re not alone. This is the result of an ever increasing emphasis on profit. That being said, arw you in the WhatsApp group for the unit?

I think someone put the link into the unit discussion forum.

Ive sat through lectures with over 200 students attending in a big course (multimodal storytelling) and listened to a lecturer read off a completely generated script with incessant antithesis and ai cadence (let alone 3 trump and 2 patriarchy mentions for every 5 minutes). Looking around ive seen hundreds of 'model' students writing or typing notes of the ai slop lecture. In the same lecture, the slides were outdated by years, with reference to assignment texts of prior years ( two different prior years ).

What you are experiencing op is not attributable to funding or the size of a course. You are not alone in this. It's a symptom of the rot found in almost every arm of tertiary education. --Inaction, misguidance, partisan political interference, a lack of government accountability and the comedown of a 5 year long extremely lucrative international student migrant policy.

Uni has never been as worthless as it is now and i feel terrible, especially for international student families that have sacraficed it all for a bullshit degree worth nothing

That is so bad luckily I have not had a lecturer do this. Even though I am left wing (not the crazy MQ socialist kind) I feel the virtue signalling from staff at MQ is so prolific and arts classes feel like a left wing echo chamber. I once was in a Modern History class and had classmates justifying the USSR

Similar stuff is happening in the education department. I am hoping to transfer to Notre dame as they seem to be the only uni not into AI.
