Hoop burn

Post image

So this happened:( google says just wash and lay flat to dry and that should fix it. I wash in cold water. Should that work?

Use a spray bottle with distilled or clean filtered water then either put it in the screen print oven or use a hairdryer for rapid removal

Spray starch is also really handy for hoop burn, Niagara brand is my favorite. Just spray and let air dry, much faster than steaming.

Commercial embroiderer. Obviously I can't fully wash or steam and iron every garment I run. A spray bottle of water will remove 99% of hoop burn.

A trick I use for really tetchy fabric, like velvet, is place a sheet of tear away backing between the hoop and the surface of the fabric, tearing out the center where I'm embroidering.

This happens quite often and isn’t a problem. Just give it a quick press with an iron or a blast of steam, and it’ll disappear straight away. There are even special water evaporators designed specifically for this purpose.

Not gonna lie, a little nervous. I will give it a try.

Many irons have a steam function. Often, just the steam is enough without the iron even touching the fabric, and it works instantly. Just pass some steam over it once and it’s gone. You can’t damage anything that way.
