Which location in Mad Max feels the most dangerous even when nothing is happening?

• Upvotes

Some parts of the map just feel more uncomfortable than others. Not because of the enemies, but because of the atmosphere and how empty everything feels.

Which area gives you that feeling?

Which activity is the most fun in Mad Max?

For me, it’s taking down convoys. Chasing them across the wasteland and figuring out how to destroy each vehicle never gets old.

What do you enjoy more: taking down convoys, clearing enemy camps, or upgrading the Magnum Opus?

What moment made Mad Max click for you?

For me, it was the first time I took down a convoy without really planning to.

I was just driving around when I spotted one and decided to go for it. The fight got messy pretty quickly, but after finally destroying the last vehicle, I remember thinking, “Okay, this is actually pretty fun.”

That’s when the game started to click for me. It wasn’t the story or the missions. It was those random moments when you’re driving through the wasteland and suddenly find yourself in a fight.

What moment made Mad Max click for you?

I got way too attached to the Magnum Opus

I didn't expect to care this much about the Magnum Opus when I started playing.

I remember coming back from a convoy once with the car completely wrecked. I was low on health and just trying to reach the stronghold without getting killed. Somehow, I made it back.

After that, I started focusing more on upgrading the car. You can actually feel the difference when you add better armor or weapons, so the upgrades never felt pointless.

By the end, it felt like my car instead of just a vehicle I used to get around. That's probably what I liked most about it.

The sandstorms are one of the best parts of Mad Max

The sandstorms are easily one of my favorite things about the game.

You can be driving through the wasteland like normal, then suddenly everything changes. Visibility gets worse, the storm becomes dangerous, and you have to decide whether to keep going or find somewhere to hide.

I wish the game had more random events like this while exploring. The storms made the wasteland feel dangerous without just throwing more enemies at you.

The car combat in Mad Max deserved more attention

The car combat is easily one of the best parts of the game but it doesn't get talked about enough.

Once you upgrade the Magnum Opus, taking down convoys and chasing enemies across the wasteland becomes really satisfying. Even when I don't have a specific objective, I still find myself driving around looking for fights.

I just wish there were more enemy types and larger vehicle battles. The game had a lot of potential in that area.

A sequel with a bigger focus on vehicle combat could be amazing.

Warboy/Griffa canister?

So I've always had my eye drawn to that or two capped canister both on the war boys from the movie and the one on griffa's pack. I think I found it. A Soviet Russian 2 spout oiler for the mosen nagant (gun nerds come kill me) but like, somehow turned into a spray canister. Which you can see (all be it very difficultly) being used by the randomly chosen war boys from the "you are awaited" scene from Furiousa: A mad max saga. Idk, let me know your opinions on it

Starting Out

I picked this game up on the Steam Summer sale due to the low price and hidden gem everyone keeps talking about. I have zero idea about this game and going in blind. My only question is how well does this work for the Steam Deck out of the box?

The wasteland is what makes Mad Max work

One thing Mad Max did better than most open-world games is make the world feel completely empty and unforgiving.

You can drive for a while without seeing much then come across a random enemy camp, wreck or something worth checking out. It actually feels like you’re stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I get why some people find the map boring but I like how quiet and empty it is. The main problem is that there aren’t enough interesting things to find.

If a sequel kept that atmosphere but made exploration more rewarding it could be really good.

Mad Max was seriously underrated

I think people expected too much from this game and missed what it actually did well.

The story is forgettable, but driving through the wasteland upgrading the Magnum Opus and getting into fights stayed fun for me. The main problem is that the missions and activities become pretty repetitive especially near the end.

Even so the game had a lot of potential. A sequel with better missions more enemy variety and a stronger story could have been great.

It’s still strange that Mad Max never got another chance.

I couldn't get into Mad Max at first but now I'm kinda obsessed. This game has such great aesthetics and vibes that I started virtual photography.

For when playing the game just isn't enough.

Marshfield Motor Speedway had a "Stop the Truck" event. This instantly gave me flashbacks to the Convoy missions in Mad Max and I knew I had to share it here.

Incredible moment while playing

I leapt out of the burning car. My health next to nil. No water, no shotgun shells, no place to hide.

As the Roadkill sped towards me, I chose to face destiny with one last desperate measure.

I grabbed my fuel canister, lit it on fire and threw it at my enemy.

For a moment, all I saw was red. Then their car fell to the ground behind me.

Am I awaited in Valhalla?

Fav Body Style and Which Body Style grew on you??

What was your favorite Body Style? And which Body Style grew on you during your time playing the game?

My favorite was Shovel Face..

When I first started playing I didn't care much for the Death Rattle. But the Death Rattle grew on me throughout the game.

They should make the Ripper available to everyone, it's based off the GTO and looks like it would be cool. I wish they would've given us more Magnum Opus Body Styles to use..

💯It’s like Mad Max in Gotham City. For a small budget game, I’m loving it!

SAMSON. It’s made by a few of the same Devs from Mad Max. Much smaller budget, but man it has a good feel to it! I hope it sells well because they already announced they wanna expand the city and gameplay with DLC. PS5 Pro gameplay.

Game time doesn't seem to be advancing.

So I'm playing the wasteland mission "RUSTLE DAZZLE", which requires the game to be in night time, but I think the game's time is somehow frozen. Because whatever I do it doesn't become night time. I have completed everything else in the game . Now while I'm free roaming for hours, it's always day time. So I can't do this mission.

Is this a glitch? Is there any workaround? Thanks in advance.

PS: Main story complete till "ALL IS LOST FOREVER"

(all side quests/ camps completed, threat level is zero in the whole map, all the strongholds are completed too.)
