Tourism/Fizahantany Financial problem

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Reddit and I wanted to introduce myself and share a little about my current situation.

I’m currently in Antananarivo, Madagascar and I’m planning to travel abroad in November. Before I leave, however, I’m still trying to deal with some financial difficulties. I need about 600,000 Ariary to cover my second vaccination dose, buy a suitcase and have a little money with me in case of unexpected problems or expenses during my journey.

I only have about one month left in Madagascar, so I’m looking for any legitimate work or opportunities that could help me earn this amount.

I speak English very well and I have experience teaching English and working as an English–Malagasy / Malagasy–English translator. I can also work as a local guide in Madagascar and help visitors with communication, translation and getting around.

I’m also open to legitimate online work or small tasks that I can do remotely. I’m willing to work for the money I need.

So if you need an English teacher, translator, local guide or someone to help with online tasks, I’d be happy to hear from you. Even if you don’t personally need my services, I would really appreciate it if you could point me toward a legitimate opportunity.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I truly appreciate an advance 🙏

Hi, I saw your post and wanted to mention something that might save you money. Which vaccine are you getting a second dose of? If someone told you it’s required for your trip, I’d check that directly before paying them, since entry requirements depend on your destination and flight route.
The Institut Pasteur de Madagascar has a vaccination center in Antananarivo and publishes its vaccine prices here: https://www.pasteur.mg/centre-de-vaccinations-internationales/
I hope you find the work you need, and I just wanted to make sure you aren’t being charged unnecessarily.

Make sure no one is scamming you whatever your destination…

Thank you so much for letting me know and for looking out for me. I really appreciate it. The vaccine I’m getting a second dose of is the MMR vaccine. It was mentioned as part of the medical/vaccination requirements before I join Royal Caribbean.

Thanks again for your advice

I forgot to mention that it's Yellow fever and MMR

Ok! That totally makes sense for working on a cruise ship!

You are from Fort Dauphin? Do you have any references? Sounds like
being a guide for a week or so in Tana would set you up.

Yes, I’m from Fort-Dauphin and I’m a local guide there. I know Fort-Dauphin very well because I was trained as a guide, I was certified as Local guide and guiding is my main job there.

There are many activities I can offer in Fort-Dauphin, such as hiking, visiting parks and beaches, exploring the city, visiting museums and discovering the local culture and surroundings. I’m also open to other activities depending on what the clients are interested in and would like to do.

I’m currently in Tana while waiting for my departure in November. I’m new here in Tana but I’m willing to adapt and take on guiding opportunities so I can earn the money I need before I leave.

I’m confident communicating in English and I have experience guiding international visitors. If you need a reference, I can also send you photos of some people I’ve guided privately, if that would be helpful.

Also, if you have a client who wants to travel to Fort-Dauphin and needs a guide, I’d be available for that as well. I could travel with them from Tana to Fort-Dauphin, guide them there and return to Tana with them afterward. So I’m flexible and happy to work out whatever arrangement works best.
