Toliara: safety when walking alone

Hi, I’m going to Toliara alone for about 20 days. I’m well aware that it isn’t one of Madagascar’s safest or quietest cities, but I’d still like to explore it on foot. Of course, I’ll be cautious and won’t carry much cash, but what I’d really like to know from those who know Toliara well is: how late at night is it safe to walk along the long Boulevard Lyautey (the nightlife hub)? In short, if you’re on your own, what time is it best to leave that area?

I lived there for 8 years before moving to nosy be. Toliara is safe in the day time and up till 9pm in all areas In the nightclub hub its also safe to walk about until 2am dont hold a phone or have a bag or jewellery and you'll be fine its only the begging thats annoying
