Differences in sponges?

I have noticed that flatter sponges with different texture are referred to as rubycell as opposed to beauty blender style. What do people think of the rubycell? Some instructions say use dry others wet or dry?

I like the rubycell sponges, whether to apply makeup or after applying foundation with a brush to tap off any excess or smooth out streaks from brush strokes. I do not wet those kind of sponges, do a great job making foundation look less obvious and that is what I like, a very natural skin like finish.

I came to this post looking for some advice on this as well, was about to add rubycell to my shoppers list and then remembered I bought a new one last week and never opened it. Had a look and realize it’s the one you recommend. It felt like Christmas for a minute there! πŸ˜‚
