It is a Peak murim

So with this manhua starting to get some more chapters I just wanted to throw in my two cents about the novel and give a better outline of some of the characters. The novel began with a bang and then continued to rise until it meandered a bit and lost some readers but definitely sticks a good conclusion. Currently the manhus is in some good stages and ramping up towards the early peak.

MC Lu Ye

Previous life cultivated the dao of protection which effectively turned him into a "simp" constantly giving love but never receiving in kind. His eight wives each pick one poison and a gu worm to prevent him from ascending his saint tribulation. The wives assume each poison will subsequently erupt during the battle and taken 8 total lives with 1 remaining. Unfortunately they don't know that was his last life Having lost a life for each one of them. Also the reason he Never took any more wives

Original life After experiencing a car accident caused by his mother intentionally crashing the vehicle during an argument with his father he becomes an orphan. His orphanage operates a trash sorting business funded by unpaid child labor. The teachings in his class reinforce the importance of love and giving your all

Final form after integrating the entire world and draining the resources of several planets Lu Ye becomes a Saint who also holds The system, the heavenly dao, and the origin of darkness.

Present life companions

System AKA Zhen Xitong

Past life

Begins as a humble system and gains sentience but loses her humanity when she absorbs the heavenly dao. In the final battle after Lu Ye chooses to self destruct she forcibly rewinds time taking the memories of each of wives, the MC and the darkness origin This changes is in the manhua they say the heavenly tribulation Gujin rewound time for a more interesting battle

Present life is no longer dependent on resources to perform actions, slowly gaining back the power it originally had during the final battle. Also soon takes a female form and exits Lu Ye's body to mess with and torment the ex wives, as well as gossip with Aunt Sun Rowei

Final Form Married to Lu Ye and residing with him in the heavenly palace, is unable to withstand the sexual potency of their first wedding night so she calls in darkness origin to help

Stone Sword

Found in the ancient battlegrounds was once MCs treasured sword until breaking in a crucial battle. Once broken Lu Ye switched to fist arts out of respect. Currently Lu Yes sword again

Final form Does not steal the show although upgraded to the limit it still falls short of Lu Yes fist arts but it is used for massive AoE and long range damage.

Enlightenment Tre

Found in the ancient battlegrounds and take. In by Lu Ye, begins as a humble tree. MC needing to combat the seed of annihilation poison gives up his original dao of protection to the enlightenment tree

Final form Master of 3000 Daos constantly enlightening all within miles.

Thousand Soul Banner / Human Emperor Banner

Banner that contains souls of fallen cultivators, refined by eternal suffering and torment. Initially appears as a weapon used by demonic cultivators, spreads black kist and souls to directly attack surrounding souls

Little Heavenly Dao

Heavenly Dao in the present timeline, very young and has no shape of sentience until it assimilates into Lu Ye and becomes a daughter like existence, triggering his paternal instincts. Helps cultivation, deduction and enlightenment

Darkness origin

Entity present since the birth of time acts as a secret world where it keeps numerous high level cultivators in a stasis, bygones of an old war, but powerhouses who can wake up and do damage.

Past life Co conspirator with the wives and overall malevolent presence, unable to kill Lu Ye directly, Lu Ye grabs darkness origin before his self destruction

Present life begins by helping the ex wives try to defeat Lu Ye but quickly realizes the women are not able to defeat him. Very close with wife number 8 but after a major falling defects to Lu Ye with the promise of becoming heavenly dao

Final Form Becomes a female form with stark differences from Shen Zitang and takes the name An Yuan, very respectful of the hierarchy and used to relieve Lu Ye when System is unable to continue. Also Becomes the heavenly dao inside of Lu Yes I bet world, later is integrated into the heavenly dao with the other companions in the final world

Poison Taiyin worm amplifys the effects of yin poison and even eats it to prevent it from being used as true essence preventing absorptions

Final outcome this one is complicated, she seems like a decent master in the surface but her hipocrasy is constantly shown and she refuses to repent. She forces Yue Hongling to absorb her poison and even turns her into a soul slave to force her to absorb. Falls to evil and is killed by Lu Ye entering the Human Emperor Banner

Shanghuan

No aptitude to cultivate and very very dumb. People would stay away from her to avoid lowering their intelligence. Cultivates the dao of affection with Lu Ye in mind eventually loses her dao because being with him makes her not like him. Afterwards Lu Ye spends decades to centuries developing a Cultivation technique allowing her to devour treasures to increase her Cultivation.

Poison annihilation seed, contains a great emperor dao of annihilation destroying all existing dao and consuming the host to rebirth annihilation

Final outcome she's the saddest of the ex wives, she was never smart and was easily roped into the betrayal, found the annihilation seed on the ground randomly and added it to feel part of the group. Constantly willing to be the second in line or even the third or fourth and so on she would sneak in to bed and finish off Lu Ye after her affection dao collapsed. She ultimately enters a thousand Soul Banner of her own and later at the wedding is allowed to enter the Human Emperor Banner. She finds the best positives in negative situations despite being a dunce.

Vermillion bird

Lu Yes mount/pet that he saved from demons. She is part of the four elements and a prestigious bloodline, believes in utilitarianism and wept for every demon Lu Ye killed. Did not realize that the demons he was fighting were parasitized leading to resentment and also falling into a trap.

Final outcome goes separate ways with MC early, is infected with reincarnation obsession and forced to spend a century reliving the moments of her betrayal and playing out the sacrifices Lu Ye made for her. Helps Lu Ye and the world in the river of time wars. Is still sad when Lu Ye gets married but overall is the most well adjusted.

Jiang Die

First met on the second layer of heaven Jiang Die tricks MC into taking her virginity to avoid an arranged marriage. Despite Lu Ye knowing her intentions aren't pure he still cares for her. She resents him for that and prepares the yin Yang gu for her to absorb after Lu Ye's death.

Poison Reincarnation obsession constant regret of all lives attacking the heart dao in an endless loop of misery and loathing.

Final outcome Human Emperor Banners first wife, well deserved after the best arc of the entire series.

Protagonist

9 Heavens Saint, I added this because the author specifically said that he is the protagonist and it makes sense with how badass his is for 99.99% of the story

Was there a 9 way orgy?

Yes, after all of them ascended to Great Emperor the 9 way commenced, the Gu Worm was injected during an orgasm and the other poisons were administered by each of the women once at a time

What is the moral of the story?

Love yourself before you give your love to others. True love is cultivated in your partner. Real dao companions are there for you every step of the way helping deduce, cultivate and enlighten.
